The rework they're doing on the characters > that's a terrific thing.
Doing a rework on in game life-skilling silver generating efforts, to make it competitive with grinding monsters would be a logical step in maintaining and improving the "sand-boxiness" of BDO.
Mounts? I'm sure they'll be well received but the life-skilling rebalance within the context of the BDO universe needs some love.

What do you propose? Bear in mind they addressed a similar concern in the context of bartering.

Q. Bartering beats earning silver by defeating monsters. Is there a solution for this?
A. The basic principle of Black Desert is that defeating monsters should be the most meaningful and efficient content. This is because it is the content that requires the most effort comparatively, since it requires Adventurers to constantly input moves and commands. We strictly observe this principle when designing and balancing other content. Excluding Korea, the global servers may be influenced by a variety of buffs and scrolls, so we will completely re-examine hunting grounds and adjust accordingly.
Additionally, we mentioned specialized servers in a previous answer, and we will focus more on these parts when balancing in the future. Our stance that defeating monsters should be the most efficient is something that will not change. And regarding Bartering, as more and more Adventures obtain their Carrack increasing, we’ve had to implement several waves of nerfs in light of the growing profits. Since Bartering requires consistent time investment and has a limited count, we are in no hurry to make adjustments in its current state.

Want for mounts but keep in mind travel speed will always be locked behind the desert villas. It is an absolute requirement that it takes a significant amount of time to reach particular villas from popular "mainland" areas. Else the Naphart Campsite would be essentially worthless.

The white stag with lapis lazuli antlers you see in Old Wisdom Tree
It was surprisingly tall and I couldn't get a good angle on it. In one image it's behind the Ferrina.

god i hope if they add more mounts we can breed them like the horses. please please please. id love to breed dragons, i wish there was a period of time you have to wait for a foal to grow and it runs by your side as it grows, and you have to protect it from enemies and it runs when danger is near. thatd be real cool.

i hope we get some new mounts soon. but rather than them being role focused which is what the camel and mini elephant is. i would like to see them more globably used. As the camel and elephant are a niche mount to use. which means barely anyone uses it unless for a specific purpose.
Odyllita has all the best NPC mounts but its not recognized in game. Would be good to see the bear and wolf have tier system to them as well. And if a dream state ever does come for them it could be specialized into things like mobility, offensive attacks and support role perhaps ? aka the mount could help you in combat without being ridden. Would diverisfy mount enthuesiests as the dream horse market is so over obundent now it wouldnt be surprised if a good chunk of the population has access to one now...
hopefully we get to see new mounts added this year!
