If it's serious, put the items we get in the pearl shop into the perspective of other things that video-games outside the genre put up for sale. Call of Duty now you drop $60 for the full game, just like Black Desert, and just the same you get a bundle of things to change your character's appearance. $30 seems to be standard for these, we get outfits within the same range that come with weapons as well just how they get character cosmetics and weapon skins.

There's a lot of other Free-to-Play MMOs and other genre games that have the same type of thing, look at Fortnite and I guess Trove, for example. Fortnite's dependent on people buying their skins and because of their popularity and contracts, they're able to constantly add more and more for cheap. If they were limited to designing things within their own market and universe, things would be more expensive but because they outsource their skins you can buy them for what, $10 a pack?

I'm one who rathers get free content, even if it's slow from time to time, than having to constantly buy more and more DLC like Elder Scrolls Online, World of Warcraft, or Final Fantasy. Mind you, they STILL have cosmetic purchases that are optional that you can take advantage of, and given, it may be $10 cheaper than the stuff Pearl Abyss puts up but with them, you still have to pay for DLC to unlock more of the game. I love getting free content put in, even if it means having to pay $10 than other games for a nice shiny outfit.

Thats all you need to know. Its not the millionaires they after spending thousands on some specific content like ships in star citizen or addicts on gambling with lootboxes. Its the said targed group who is able to spend money constantly for a wide range of "quality of life" services in a game that is fundamentaly build on it. These are milked.

She didn't say she'd spend $30 for porn. She said she'd spend $30 for a lewd enough outfit, and that's completely different. If someone spends hours a day in a game, it's extremely sensible to make your character such that you enjoy seeing her or him. This is not pornography. This is aesthetics and a very sensible pleasure.

You're actually attacking somebody for wanting to enjoy seeing her character which she sees all the time in the third person game. If having a beautifully lewd character is unpleasant to see, there are other online games you can play which don't offer that.

For one thing, lewdness in an outfit is not bad. It's beautiful. It's life. It's appreciation of one's self or of another's self. I'd go as far as to say it's punk rock in the original sense of the word.

BDO is still a really cheap entertainment/hobby.

For myself, I want other things than lewdness; looking for other kinds of expressions. But that doesn't stop me from appreciating and experiencing others expressions. I saw a guy who had black colored bush armor, dim tree, together with a yellowish orange skin color and hair, making it look like his head was a pale flame coming from the sharcoal thing beneath.. it was excellent for a dim tree, I think. damn them for that dim tree. And also! I want more cool casual clothings. Anyway, it was inventive and fun; there's always something interesting to see if you're willing to look.

I like what you wrote there, too, and I know what you mean. Back when I made my witch, both my girlfriend and I hated, hated all the regular outfits that come with witch. We felt they looked like potato sacks. So I got my witch a curvier, skimpier outfit and became happy. But last week I was in Calpheon and noticed a witch with a bun and glasses wearing regular robes, and gosh if she didn't look wonderful! I don't think I'd like her look for me to see hours a day, but to see there at the bank or the market, just so beautiful! :)

I got a lot of IRL money invested in this game but got my moneys worth in 4 years of playing.

Also I have a job that pays very well and no wife or gf to suck the money dry.

BDO is a bog boi game.

This is a very niche game. As such niche items in IRL costs many times more than mainstream items. So the items in niche games costs much more than mainstream games.

You have to remember. P2W Korean Grinders like this are aimed at F2P players and those that spend massive amounts of money to dominate those F2P players. That is more than likely why the pearl shop items are so expensive in BDO.
