It was obvious what this class could and couldn't do at its launch.  I am sorry that you are surprised.  I have a shai.  I have nothing against them.  I don't expect my ranger to equip a shield and be a tank too, however

I hate Shai as a race. I thin they are annoying and I think shai class was bad, is bad and will be bad forever and I am glad Shai mains suffer. You have been warned that Shai is a special class, so dont complain you cant play like a normal class.

And when we look at the passives and their value to the game..

The shais passive are okay at lower levels for relaxed gaming… I think the shai is a good for people new to mmos and would not want that to be lost but it feels like a trap! (also that was back before we had seasons, shai role as a relaxed learning , not so important now)

Gathering and achemey will have been taken into account when handing out overall benefits to the , and why I think shai is missing an evasion rate passive skill set (See Link).

When you look at  the passives they look powerful, but in reality, given where the game is at with seasons and availability of gear and access to zones because of that, they aren’t strong at all (just the numbers look impressive)

Plus 5% gathering and alchemy growth at level 60. What, so less that a buff potion. It’s only measurable if you are min maxing. As you level in the game you realise that that passive is a joke, a waste of point allocation, A negative to the class as it taken away other options. (and as free pets are given out, the funny thing with percents is, if everyone get pets with buffs to life, taken as a hole that 5% is reduced*1)

Okay, the 300% combat exp, sound fantastic! Well it was back when shai came out, Back before seasons, back when I didn’t know anything of the game (hence its good for players new to mmos). At level 61 and 62, given season tries to get you to level 61 though questing and goals, these 300% is hardly felt.

I gave it a proper try over the last few weeks. Gave my self a reasonable set of manos (Duo accessories and tri  clothes, not cheap but not out of reach, and equivalent tri manos tools). I have my gathering 29 mastery, which is moving quite slow, even with gathering all day (not feeling that 5% even with my pets adding and 29%,food adding 10% and potions adding 20%... wow pets and food is 59%, that 5% looks small now).. my exp is not moving at all, so other classes with AP passive, or AP to monsters, them passive are quite a bit more powerful that 300% combat exp from gathering and alchemy (dont get confused now, im point out the valuse of pasives not asking for the same thing) (oh alchemy, been doing that too, so disappointing)

Past the level 60 mark, these passive seem pointless… they are a fake reason to not give shai something more useful, as silly lore reason to passively nerf shai because? PA had a good idea that whent bad, and experiment that hasn’t worked out, given where the game is… this has not been addressed. To address it, to make these passive fit where the game has been taken, and justify shais passive as proper, PA would have to;

Buff the Gathering exps passive from 5% at level 60 to 20% / 30%, so that the befit is not dwarfed by,

one) The games access to gear

two) food buffs accessible to all

The exp buff from such activities would need to increase 10 fold at higher levels (3000%) to keep shai inline with where the game is at, if you expect us to values that passive, and a justification for not having other passives (any of you critical streams wanna chip in, nah, dn’t think so, you talk shit and know nothing, and your audience think you have some insight).

If we had that (Given where the game is now) You could start to call shai a like skilling (still dosent justify the more that 50% damage reductions, yeah, even with that adressed even if shai was a life skilling class, you could not justify the reductions... shai is in a really bad place) . ...making it a class that can progress from life skilling… but what happens is… you get the gamers that have been around for a while, they tag a shai or have access to money and journals, and gear already… they make a meme shai or use it as a tool for processing (normally) yeah processing, not gathering.. they get them levels via gear, group power levelling and training dummies, Shia is like a extra pet for them.

People who say ‘shai is a life skiller , that’s what it was meant to be’… have not played shai as a 100% new player. Without knowledge of the game, Without access to lots of friends, Gear, Journals and funds (sure some have gone in fresh on NA from Eu or EU from NA… but normally into a group of friends, and using seasons to level, not the passives ha!) They don’t see shai as a class but a game extra, and that's the position they are arguing from, so for them, shai is good enough for them. They don’t see shai as its own but an addition to their gear, to be used alonge side another character… This is their selfish position, disagree, lets talk about it (Critical streamers? Crickets? - cus i cant come to our steam and agruge it infront of your fanboys, you know that)

They talk about shai from a privileged position and even they do not values shais passives. They like the bag space, that’s about it… and because they have their main classes, they think shai should just be a bag space , and will make up any justification to keep it there.. Selfish! not to mention wierd

If she was meant to be a life skiller, PA got it wrong (we all make mistake, we are only human)… and PA knows that people want shai to be more than that now (and why not? If PA got the experiment wrong, why keep it that way? Because that’s what you think it should be? Some people are pure idiots! You don’t get any of these streamer in there joining the conversation on shai, no, they stay on their platform where they can control the conversation and ricule the class , Perpetuating stero types and making it harder for real shai mains to be listen too… these sorts of streamer damage the community and product monsters that go around having a dig at anyone pointing out valuable points about the classes issues (I wont mention who these streamers are, but is not just one and they are a huge reason for such issues, It enpowers the trolls we see here)

We need these A-holes to shut up and stick to their thing (blowing kisses to their streamers for tips), stop making it harder for shai mains to have conversations, so we can get our class fixed. Shai was made for a very different game, pre seasons and plans that never happened. Just because some are happy with their set up and shai is a nice bag space for them, and they have a voice via a platform, doses not mean they can damage shai mains ability to talk on this subject.

There are people fighting changes to shai because they don’t want to think their stream has it wrong (fanboy complex)

5% no pets or food feels like 105% or other classes have 95.2% of your ability.

Now the game gives everyone pets pet and 12% buff to life skills

You have 117% then have 112% or they only have 95.7%. so them free-bees have already reduce that 5% passive by 0.5% in real terms.

Lets take into account food buffs instead. Food and potions, +30%, so 135% and 130%, we are at .096%, that level 60 passive in real terms is now 4%

What if we have add Manos at ~duo ?

6 part +15%

Item effect at duo 6% x 5 = 30%

Total 45% + the food and potions, 65% value without passive, what does that look like?

Shai 170% and other 165% … other classes now have 97% of you gathering.. your level 60 passive are more like 3% when looking at where the game is at. I haven’t used any super high end gear, or scrolls..

P.s.

yeah taking about streamers again (cus they did this, they have the influence)... they will say they don't have the time to come to the forum and talk, but they have the time to generate negativity about the class , and empower the trolls to come here and get in the way. Sorry if you think such streamers are cool people, they really arnt and they need to grow up or shut up!

at least this person is show why some people on here are againt shai beeing listen to , and it has nothing to do with whats that is good for the game or fair to the players, but some strange personal reasons.

How many of the critics have this issue (including some streamers).. when questioned they dont seem to have an argument and it comes down to some personal feelings. a hate for the class..

maybe they need to reroll out of the game if they hate the class so much (e.g. Stop hitting your slef). It's part of the game, and its not just NA/EU playing this game, so shai is going nowhere, that leaves them one option... Seeya :P
