Open pvp was a total failure. Statement from devs:

PvP is important to us and we are committed to ensuring it plays a significant role in our game. To be specific, by PvP we mean, fair fights that are organized, skill based, and opted into by all participants. Not PKing (Player Killing), which is a predatory behavior that relies on exploiting another player’s lack of experience, progress, readiness, or willingness.

I will say it again, again and again: I want to meet any open pvp enthusiast in real life, he with a stick and I with a gun. And we'll do pvp, which one is the first one? Could neither of them want to? Why? Will be fun.

Do you realise that this is some realy problematic behaviour. I bet no. Also dont trust too much the gun, be more careful with the player.

I don't mind non consensual, open world pvp.  I DO mind the people who blame others for their inability to control themselves and their urges to flag others to bully them off the map.

I like chiming in on PvE server threads. 

Here's what I think would be ideal: 

For each server group (Calpheon 1-6, Mediah 1-6, etc, etc):

Server 1: Arsha rules (can skip droprate buff just make it a PvP-focused rule-set with no karma penalties)
Server 2: PvE only except for wars - basically Seasonal server rules, no flagging, effectively PvE only  

Server 3-6: normal rules  

I only play on Arsha (I think there's a sort of community there and I like seeing the same people day in and day out, even fighting and losing to them), so I wouldn't even use this new system. I just think it accomplishes 2 important things:

1 - so many players complain about karma, so let's make a handful of servers with no karma rules like arsha (but without the drop buff) Now karma-whiners can congregate on these servers; no more karma bombing, they have several servers where they can freely defend their spot from grifers and cannot whine anymore. Victory! 

2 - so many players, especially new players and prospective/potential new players, are deeply repulsed by PvP in general. Why not offer a few PvE servers and just let them grind over top each other or party up. What is the worst that could happen anyway?

PvE server would be nice, most of the habitual Pkers are perma reds anyway that dont care about karma loss so it really doesnt stop them.  Why not do some sort of opt in pvp where if you opt for pvp to be active you get some exp or drop buffs, and if you dont want to opt in you don't have to.  Anyways I just deal with the random ganking what else can you do I like the game but as a casual player I will never have gear score to compete with high level players, its a shame I think there would be more players if there was a PvE server choice, PA would make more money.

Simply make something like when you doesnt have your weapons on, if you killed by a player, you wont lose EXP, and after you engage fighting, you can not remove your weapons, so that wont effect normal PVP stuff. Or something like if you wearing 6-8 life skill gears or accessories, one of the set bonus will be not losing EXP when you are killed by a player.

I dont remember how many times i got killed in the past 6 years. and twice yesterday near heidal when i was lvling trading. 

BDO is a PVP game. Don't complain about being killed even unfairly killed. Ppl have all kinds of reasons to kill others in the game. if you dont want to be killed either be careful or be strong enough.

If there is a pure PVE server, they will lose the PVP players as well, and PVE players may not be happy due to the limited spots for grinding and life skilling.

I like the upcoming thing with 1h private grind spots (instanced grinding?) although I wish it had been increased to 2h or more.

I like having other players around but PvP is just a major downside to me, it's not fun at all and sure, it's a "PvP game" but if the majority enjoyed that aspect then Arsha would be crowded and we'd see more of those servers. As it stands, the Arsha servers are few which, at least to me, implies that the majority do not enjoy being ganked or ganking others.
PvE servers would be nice but then there'd be different issues (many people farming the same spot, trying to out-annoy the others) which is why I love the upcoming private grind suggestion presented by the devs and seriously, not being griefed by random assholes who decides to feed me to monsters because they feel entitled to my spot I've been farming for a while (okay, I don't own it but you get the idea) is not something I will miss at all, if anything, those players are the main reason why I'm the only one left among my friends that still play the game even though everyone believe the game itself is great and a lot of fun.

Oh well, that's my take on it atleast.

At this point, after all the previous discussions that finally died because nobody really care about this useless crusade, the exposed arguments, and above all the obvious answers from PA devs, through words AND ACTIONS (1 hour daily, anyone?), it becomes unreasonable.

Above all with the bad faith, and the will to ignore the real consequences of regular pure pve in BDO. Time to stop the nuisance of a vocal minority on these forums. Have a nice day.
