I support your feel incondionnaly. I play BDO for years now. I have done evering thing to play BDO over Linux, even playing for a couple of year with a VM with dedicated graphic card. But it cost a lot either in hardware and energy; my money flew away.

Since EAC support Linux and the Wine layer, hope is finally back, but depends only of the devs good wills.

I send a ticket last days because of a quest in Season that wont validate the pass. I have added a few comments about EAC at the end (new year extra wich etc :)). I was very surprise to get back a very positive feedback from the GMs . They look very motivated to push the suggestion request to the devs ! (they give me the link of this thread !)

So, I think it the time to feed this thread more and more with only a +1 to tell how much we would love to play BDO on our platform !

I've been waiting for them to make the switch for months now. I won't be going back to windows ever again so they might as well let us play on linux so they can get my money back.

PA, please enable the built-in EAC support for Linux. We aren't asking for a native Linux client of the game. We want the potential to play BDO on Linux without having to do GPU passthrough to a Windows VM.

Epic's EAC has already done the legwork to support Linux, and it has been available for some time. We just want you to enable the ability for your EAC distribution to optionally use Linux libraries as well, and we'll handle getting the game itself running through wine/proton.

Personally, I'd like to go back to only needing one GPU. Running a second card, even a weak one, still takes a lot of power to do.

Please please please add support for EAC on Linux! I have been wanting to delve into this rich game for months now ever since I picked it up, but have been unable to due to the anti cheat. I would love to experience this game and see what countless developers have made!

Having to boot up windows to play bdo is legit the main reason why I don't log in every day. It's the only reason I boot to windows anymore. Even if it performed worse, just having the option to play from linux would be so much better.

Pearl Abyss, as a leader in the gaming industry, it's important to consider the growing number of Linux users who are being left behind in the gaming experience. By porting Black Desert to Linux or adding support for Linux to the Easy Anti-Cheat implementation, you can open up your game to a new audience of players and potentially increase your revenue.

As you know, Linux is a popular operating system among developers and technical professionals. These individuals are often early adopters and influencers in the gaming community, and by catering to their needs, you can gain their support and help spread the word about your game to other potential players.

Furthermore, by allowing Linux users to play Black Desert, you can also increase the game's security. Linux is known for its security features and by allowing the game to run on this platform, you can reduce the risk of cheating and hacking.

In addition, the number of Linux users is increasing day by day, and in the long run, it will be a smart move to cater to this audience. Moreover, with the help of the open-source community, it will be easier to develop and maintain the game on Linux.

In conclusion, supporting Linux in Black Desert can benefit both you and your players. Not only will it open up your game to a new audience, but it will also increase security and help you stay ahead of the curve in the ever-evolving gaming industry.

+1 for this. PA is missing out by not having Linux support at this point. There are lots of players that want support for Steam Deck.
