Evasion rate when PA? As stated in her creation text?

Didi you panic early on, when ultra geared player made evasion meme and could not be killed? So you didn’t add the passive? They left shai after that (moved onto striker, but he’s still got his passive, hmm)

Such days have passed, lots of accuracy in game. When will you give shai what you claim it has?

To balance of shais lower damage vs equally geared players, Survivability should be raised. Yes this mean shai will be less of a victim, but she will still have to work hard for a kill, it will still be a marathon of a battle and not ‘one combo’, but it’s not me that made shai none PvP, I just don’t get why you also wanted a victim?

You asked for more feedback (Again) but it feels like it falls on death ears when it comes to shai. Is it the forum staff or PA not listening?

Simple answer to anything regarding the Shai from PA is they don't give a D about the Shai and I'm surprised they haven't completely removed the character, but they do make money off the costumes, so that may be why they keep her around.

I've been rolling from class to class since this reboot hit just because of how ineffective DP/DR and evasion is for Shai in PvP now. I'm getting to the point of quitting BDO until they hash out these issues they've created with the reboot. Good post though but as you said it's going to deaf ears and money hungry people that don't care.

There definitively were dev speaks scattered about that indeed say that Shai was meant to be different, more about lifeskill and that sort of carefree lifestyle.

But I do perfectly understand that there were some players hoping that this vision would change over time. Shai really seems to be hard-locked in this state...

I am an Awakening Witch myself and I love small scale and 1v1. So I think I know what it is like to be awkwardly disfavored. Everyone will speak about how "Your class got so much support and utilities" therefore it is balanced. I personally think that it's bullshit. What other players really want? Free kills, and punching bags. They will never accept to be beaten by Shai or Awakening Witch. I've seen players doing panic attacks when they get there asses handed to them, getting frustrated beyond reason, saying sexual slurs that shall not be repeated here. 

These players usually play some top tier 1v1 classes (Warrior, Striker, Lahn, Ninja) and cry all day about large scale performance while they also outfrag Awakening Witch by a obscene margin. They will repeat non-stop that Awakening Witch is strong in large scale (despite evidences that it's far from the truth) and shouldn't be buffed in small scale as a result. Usually due to Speed Spell, Protected Area and Heals, which frankly are just way too glorified and are mostly relics of previous metas.

All to say... I think I get it, Shai mains.

We had a small talk about the need for more defenses at the Boston event, it wasn't necessarily a Q&A but even so we discussed the protected nature of the game with abundant SA where things like Forest Echo (bongos) is no longer as viable. As a result the Shai, who has limited escape and no SA on "Yippee!", really needs a defensive passive like 10-15% evasion rate or some kind of evasion/dr mixture.

One thing to note as well with the new artifacts and Labreska helmet is that those of us shais who have been C20 full V have not seen major increases in survivability. Meanwhile, the average enemy (and ally) are able to survive longer and deal out more protected damage which the DP shai main who hasn't increased in tankiness now has to contend with.

As a result of this latter issue, I think it is necessary for us to obtain a passive which allows us some innate protection against large-scale fights.

One issue that may arise from a change would be the question of how this could affect 1v1 and AP shais. Firstly, Shai has very poor AP scaling vs most classes which requires AP players to stack towards AP in order to penetrate the damage resistance of other classes. Therefore, evasion shais are not as viable for those who want to go AP because they have noticeably lower viability as damage dealers. This should not cause AP Shais to become too tanky and will only marginally assist DR players while leaving the playstyle intact. Instead, it will make the class feel much like ninja and kuno where players who want to survive longer can go evasion, and players who want more capacity as duelists can go DR.

For DP Shai, this change will simply allow her to engage the enemies with some resistance relative to the overall increase in the active players on the field of battle.
