Cannot create characters =(

I was playing on the trial account and it ran out so I got another then paid for it and logged in and now cannot create any characters. I get this image when I try.....
It is almost as if it thinks my pc has a controller which it doesnt. And the only think i can click is the X... I have reinstalled and submitted a ticket to no avail....ideas? Thanks!

Did you buy the game from steam, the website or xbox store or play station store? Can you access the settings before logging in to create your character? If so make sure that the use controller setting is unchecked.

From the site. I am in middle of reinstalling again now but I do not remember seeing anything about a controller on the first setting screen but will check it out. It did the same when I also downloaded it from steam....Thanks!
Steam account is different than the website account. You can't login into steam edition if you registered from the official website.

Hi there, hoping youre not a bot. To fix the error that the game defaults to controller mode, do the following:
1. Open the GameOption.txt file
2. Change the following line:
isUsePadControlPC = 1
to
isUsePadControlPC = 0
3. Save the file
4. Use "Scan files" in the launcher
