It's because it's supposed to be immersive. You're chatting, so therefore you are busy with that. Same with boxes. It's supposed to be an event. You need to stop and open the box, makes perfect sense. It's just that it's super annoying cuz u haz 500 boxes and places to be and things to do.

Then there's the real reason for this: Content. It ALL calculated. How long it gonna take u opening those boxes. what u gona make on average. That compared to normal income.

This the terrible truth: It like this to waste ur time cuz there's too little content. And like, in bdo, it all about those small moments. Like when u riding and hit some little thing u get caught in.. u ever curse about that? Well, it there to complicate the riding so that it is an interesting activity. They do that a lot, complicate things. Game's littered with complications of actions.

And that's the insult also, that u know they're wasting ur time and u know y also. The argument can be made that u r paying them, with whatever (time, money, presence), to waste ur time like that. But that a fallacy, cuz u never ordered idiot things like that. u wana play nice fantasy sandbox game, not navigate menus and remember when u can or can not push button x or use item y for reason z, where z = retarded.

I agree with the above.  Probably just lazy coding.  Kind of like this forum.

Adding the ability to open boxes from a mount also won't make you spend any more money on pearls.  So the product manager thinks there's no reason to spend developer time on that.

Cool story, very well written but nothing anyone can suggest removes the fact that this game is riddled with inconsistencies and arbitrary nonsensical mechanics. Immersion  is lost every time you become frustrated by these dumb mechanics.

Well, I getting beat up here with my "immersion" lead. Wat u think it about then, why someone put this kind of restrictions there? for what reason? I telling u, this pisses me off each and every time it happens and it happens like 20 times a day.

This to waste time. Literally the purpose of this. Make u perform more actions than strictly necessary. Always try and add another action. It's time, to waste your time. I swear it's that.
