Catch up mechanics are good if they are fair.
Why CP experience amount changed for a CP point? So that new players have more of these points faster as the game gets bigger. Ok, no problem. But why should old players lose out on this? The few points that we would get on the recalculation would be a reward for the effort put into the game.
Without recalculation PA spit in our face and give a clear sign that a long-time customer is nothing to them.
Again this is the same argument against catch up mechanic. New players get gear faster so old gear is devalued and is showing that PA spit in the face and that long-time customer is nothing to them.
While I would love to have my cp value go up because of recalculating, the arguments i've seen why just isn't compelling and is the same arguments that people use for why catch up mechanics are bad.
Would sure have been nice to get a lil boost even for us veterans especially concidering how horribly overpriced on cp most newer areas are despite the nodes not being actually any better than the ones we have in the 3 base regions.
Got 50 ppl in the guild above 424 cp getting nothing from this change not to mention the quite steep wall at 500+ making gains past that pretty much nonexistant.
Passive node income has become rather meager in comparison to grinding money so that should not be a reason to softcap the cp at current lvl.

The whole CP system needs a reboot.
Workers, nodes and town utilities need to be reimagined and updated with the new silver pace and market structure.

yeah, that's on the "never gonna happen" list

Starting with workers do jobs until they are out of stamina when logged out, not just until the end of the current job.

Well In this case it seems to be different. There explanation did not in anyway sound like the change was an attempt to catch up. They specified the premise for this change was to essentially get all players more CP so they could use it for more varied aspects of the game. So normally you would be right but the intention sounded like they want everyone to get more CP so they can not penny pinch when they use it.

but not all players got more CP only for people that did not go out and work hard for them and have ovev the 425
Lets do a quick test to see if your statements are essentially proven TRUE or FALSE
When the Caphra amounts where altered players either A: Got a refund or B: Did NOT get a refund.
Oh look they did get refunded Caphra's based upon the changed costs.
So they did also get a bump in gear.
Looks like you FAILED your own test.
refund would've been excess caphras given back to you, but there wasn't so no refund happened at all. it was applied in the weapon towards the next level, similar to what i already explained earlier in the thread where 28% turned to 40%.
not only that but caphras is an extractable resource with every level costing a singular amount so it is in a completely different system altogether. caphras amount in item before change = caphras amount in item after change. if you can't extract caphras though, you would have a point.
so no they did not get a refund. the test still works :)
