I have been playing quite a few hours/day in the past 18+months
I've done a lot of grinding 1x lvl 63 and 75% + a lot of close to 62 every season to get season mats on weekly to get the stacks as a reward
I re started out with a Guardian in the first season and That helped me a lot to be able to grind high lvl spots with a bit less gear (i've played for 2 years when the game was launched- I was in a guild that owned castles-I knew how to be efficient and get the best of my time to boost fast and grind w/e is needed for optimum money/h)
I've been enchanting a lot. Bilions upon bilions
Never made a decent PEN
Most of my PEN armor went at 220+ stack, last kutum shield, before the 100% pen were announced gave me 2x250 stacks and used one of them to get to PEN Finally.
I've been trying in the last period to get my PEN BlackStar. Last 2-3 sessions (at the end of every season) were 25+bil worth of mats(+usually 500 artisan memory) + a LOT of failstacks that I got from 20k-30k time filled i got every season from weekly quests +all the stacks obtained from rewards + season quests
My last session was a 70 - 80 bil fail including 5 more accesories (1 TET Disto) and without avail - 600+ Stones to enchant BS - 9000+ Memory fragments in 1 session- nothing but lvling stacks. I finished the session with less gear than a 2 season char, just because the game won't let me progress. I had a lot of grinding, a lot of pearls, but ppl with 10% of time investment and resources spent on enchantment have gear 2x-5x the value, just because the game just laughs in my face.
i'm up to 284 FS, i've invested all 4 hammers + 2 cron tries on the BS + the rest were raw upt to 14 or so total tries

Here is a sum up of what the game "ate up" and said "NO PEN for you!" at the last session, besides what you see, i Got like 1250+ valks cry and some more 40 stacks with the season 7k Time filled season mats. Also, I had a 250+, 190, 180 and 165 from previous session. In the last 5k-6k Memory fragments, not even one TET Blackstar. Failed with 280+ stacks basi belt, 2x tungrad and 1 disto at the end -



This is what 18 months of grinding, fishing, daily 400+CP Imperial cooking delivery, without exception, all events, all seasons, all the grind to push forward looks like after 18+ months. And it's not like I didn't push
The game is just frustrating. So Many ppl with 200k mobs killed have PEN Blackstar and I have failed 15+ times, 12+ PEN accesories and so on. The game just doesn't want to reward players

For those of you who will come and say "don't enchant if you can't take it" .. just how much can a person take ? in the last 8 months, i've spent more than 100 bil in resources and enchanting for absolutely nothing, i have way worse gear now than i had 8 months ago, just because the game doesn't want to. I have 4 Dream horses, only one went under 30+++ tries, and that was on the 29th try. 2 of the dream upgrades didn't give me the horse I was putting 102% in, cause, why not introduce some RNG to piss of players there also.

And also for the trolls, just piss off. This is a post as a warning for people who might stumble upon it, it might help them with a view of what might happen with their time and money invested in a BDO.

Thats why most ppl say to buy. I rather w8 6monts for PO rather than fail for 3months and get the item that in reality improves my dmg by 1-3%

You do realize it's a 5h/day game time for months upon months to get 100bil/item, right?  Because it's not like you enter the game, and the next second you start grinding, and there is nothing else to do, spots are yours, clan doesn't need attention, other activities don't need to be done in game and so on... 
And the problem is that so many other ppl around me have them
Just one tap, with 100-200k mobs killed, came a few months ago-> PEN Ogre + Pen BS. Uh oh, those accounts made more than I ever got, just because. And I did insist in pouring resources. And it's not just 1 or 2 exceptions. I'm surrounded by players that have way more less resources and time invested and way more gear than me. Just because "RNG". I love the game, but when you get the middle finger in your face time after time, you just get sick.
And adding the odds, they were never for me. And in the end, they proved the same.

Everybody wants to buy, so who will sell?

Second problem: grind 100b is unreal, and we are talking about only one item, and where is the rest?

Well don't enchance if you can't handle it, it's as simple as it.

Enchancing boss gear totally not worth it, and even before the guarantated quest it was a net loss to enchance boss on avarage, and the only situation where enchancing boss gear was worth it, if you built failstack or if you croned the attempts.

Yeah there are carried ppl... there are lot who onetaped their pen BS with hammers, but for every carried ppl there is one who needed much more than the avarage attempts to suceed. (You're not even at the avarage number of attempts yet.)

If you want better RNG, just start streaming, or start a new account.

I had a guild player who made his first rift within a month and there was an event. He got a box and from box: urugon shoes.

I have done over 100 bosses (solo and party) for this shoes (and even got second). But after 100 bosses!!!

After more than two years I still haven't got a dim (for the title). Item that can be purchased for 1 hour of thrash.

And now the funniest part: this player (what got those shoes) he hasn't been playing for a long time and stated that he won't be playing anymore because ... the enchantment system is pointless and he couldn't afford to enchant those shoes.

I feel like you are missing the point of RNG.

Let's take 99% average success chance for example. Then project this number to 100.000 attempts.

This literally means 99.000 attempts will be sucessfull, and 1000 will fail.
This means you can fail 1000x if 99k other players manage on the first tap.

And the average will still be 99%. Now this is highly unlikely as per the rule of high numbers, but the chance isn't 0.

If you feel like you are unlucky, use your accumulated loot to buy the already enhanced item.

I fell like you are missing the point that this is a game - And games should be fun and also REWARDING for the time and energy you invest in them. Because we still do this for fun (at least in theory), right?.
And after 18 months of "work", the mechanics of the game are so punishing that after investing another good chunck of resources I am lower geared than 1 year ago.
It is a game. It is supposed to be enjoyable, but it's just super toxic by just slapping you over and over with each person around you out pacing you, "just because". And this is a progression based game/end game- you have to admit.
None of the players around me bought their PENs. None. All were self made. Only 2 of the players that I have talked to - are close to 1/2 the grind time and resources invested by me. Others have 1/5th, or way less - counting just mobs and hours of playtime. Not thousands of AM and  value packs, kama and old moons kept up constantly so you have the highest chance of "getting more while grinding or doing stuff in game"

For each player that comes and sais "buy it", please tell me how many 100bil PENs you bought and how much time you spent grinding. You have my level, mobs killed, fished in the screenshot and consider another 4+ bil/ month out of daily imperial cooking delivery with 1650+ mastery. please, share a screenshot with your main gear and Total History

bought my pen bs around july of last year. currently sitting at full pen and the only item ive tapped is my helm.

you yourself had said u used 100b+ of mats. while sure the enhancement system sucks which is why i dont enhance my shit and just buy it, ur argument for why you didn't just buy isnt compelling lol

Would you mind posting a screenshot similar to mine ? I had a lot of grindning on other chars also, but that Guardian took the cake. Just so i can compare Level (Xp), Total mobs killed and the gear that is full PEN. I would like to know how far I was in "time invested" from the goal you said you reached just by grinding out that sweet old silver :D
