This week I managed to get my 6th and 7th characters up to level 58.  I know it don't mean a lot where there is no end to leveling.  I started playing in March of last year, got more consistent as the cold weather of autumn arrived.  Spent every day logging on for those rewards.  Almost a full year of progress,  I have several ships now, too many horses, houses in Heidel, Tarrif, Duvencrune, and Calpheon.  My next stop is Velencia and the Black Desert, don't know if I want to buy a house there yet.

Looks like the tutorial is over and now I spend the rest of this year beefing up my team.  There are plenty of bosses to be killed and places to explore.  People keep sending me guild invites, but I never felt I could offer them much, maybe I will seek a guild out this summer.  My friends invited me to play Black Desert, then they run off to other new games.  I don't like spreading myself out too thin as they do.  I spend about 2 to 4 hours a day, more on the weekends, and it seems to get the job done.

I haven't run into anything I don't like about the game.  I even like chatting it up with (most of) the players too.  BDO is where I plan to hang my hat for a long time to come.

Have fun!

Watch few tutorials about leveling to lvl 61 , there is more benefits than staying on 58 especially on several characters.

Yes, it doesn't mean much, especially since it not even takes a hour to get a character to lvl58.

Why do you even get them to lvl 58? lvl 61 is the "easy" cap, or atleast lvl60 for the family fame.

I would say that the Tutorial goes until 61, then the leveling phase is from 61-62.  58 seems like it took you a while but once you figure it out 0-61 is a day.

Thanks for all the supportive comments, been exploring the map over the last year. Here are some key features I found along the way.

Over in Velia,  Emma Bartali would have an easier time sleeping at the local inn.   She needs to move away from that huge black stone metorite at the farm and tell the goblin workers to stop licking the damn thing.

I sailed up to Port Ratt (twice) and there is a CM and storage but no houses.  They talk about a city, I think they are so full of shit their eyes are turing brown.  I don't see a city there.  I also got taken for a ride by the CM manager, yes he sold  me a boat too.

It took me a bit - but I found the underground city of Gauntlgrym, the Helm's cave enterances are a bit hard to detect.

I traveled around Calpheon area and there is a big sky turd hanging over this place called Star's End.  Looks like God took a dump and forgot to flush.  The thing is wet and dripping into the bowl.  I am not going down there to plung it either.

I traveled south, there are two things I have found in common with all the places I ever go, elves are always snobbish and dwarves always always talk with a Scottish brogue.  While I can visit Grana and O'draxxia, I can't do anything there until I finish Valencia. Elves can be such intolerant pigs, no matter where you go.

I did my Chenga Tome 7 times, I know, Levi already told me,  you only needed 1 then pass it around to the others, but it made good exersize for the horses.

At this point, I am going to finish up Valencia and my 5th house will be there or Altinovia.  I kind of like the barbarians there and I been thinking about dating the storage keeper Deve.  My goal will not be leveling as much as getting main questing completed and when I finish my level goal will be 70 before I retire from playing this game.  Level 70 seems like a nice round number.

Have fun!

It's nice to hear of your adventures, Adventurer.  As for Port Ratt and the city the natives speak of, the gates of Haso (the land beyond Port Ratt) are closed -- for now.  The gates are planned to open in the future, but I do not know exactly when.  Your gameplay experience is refreshing, Looney.  GL in Valencia.  Bring lots of Purified Water and Star Arnise Tea with you, the desert can be quite harsh without them!

When are you going to get higher? :) Actually... From what you wrote us on your last post here gave me an idea something to do in perhaps a seperate topic.

Port Ratt is basicly North Korea. The background behind the closed gates are built to look like a city and the inhabitants are instructed to uphold that view.

Also your Stars End story makes a lot of sense now on why all the player interractions I've had over there have been kinda shitty.

Actually no, I view this story is more of an analogy, historical refference, to what happened to all of Korean (Heidel) when Japan (Calpheon) decided to invade China (Valencia).  The Japanese did this action several times (not just in WWII) using their nation as a doormat to China.  This is why almost any Korean you talk with today, will not talk kindly about the Japanese people.  While most Americans will remember Pearl Harbor, historically as a Japanese agression, the Koreans hold a much longer and larger grudge for the occupation.  I don't think Port Ratt represents anything political.  The game seems to be based on a multitude of excuses for one land to invade another land, and use the otherwise neutral lands between as their battlefield.   Maybe it is not even a deliberate correlation to the history of Korea's occupation at all, historically I still find it all sad what happened to Korea and its culture.

Have fun!
