I agree with the additional methods to farm for ferns. There should be incentive for players to level their training mastery to get better chances of getting t10's.

As an aside, my horse trainer is on a different alt so I do not think that riding a t10 should be training gated otherwise I'd be out of a horse lol ^_^;

This has brought up before but I think maybe it could work like Old Moon Fences for farming, you can only install them with a Master+ character in farming but if I'm not mistaken you can prune your crops with any level of farming on other characters.

Let's look at FallenGod, the rarest level of enchantment at pen. 
On a +335 stack a PEN FG is +0.09% - and yet I can tap it way more than I can a t10 mythical horse, even at guru.
From a (very geared) friend: "I failed 33 pen blackstar awakening clicks and 49 tet fallen god clicks, I d[id] it all in the span of maybe 4 months"
Therefore, if x person is able to get 49 clicks in 4 months with top gear, or in this case, guru, maybe we should be able to click just as much, even more, because it isn't as rare of an item as TET fallen god.
I've yet to meet a person that has been supportive of the time gateing. This issue makes people quit and I've been well on the urge for a year now. The ice is thin, bdo.

I honestly think anything between 5-6 attempts a month for gurus is fair, because sure every attempt is a couple hundred million. But we aren't dependant on crons and that's something we should be thankful for. So I disagree gurus should be able to click way more than 49 times in 4 months. But there is no denying the current rate is downright boring. Which is...2 attempts a month? Not engaging with the target audience at all.

Between a grind and time-gate. I would rather have a grind, because players who want the Mythical will work as hard as they can. Wether it's catching, leveling up, imperialing horses, etc instead of a 5min daily that sets you back if you don't do it.

My last suggestion: At least let us cron our Mythical Attempts (100-200 crons) and in exchange we get back a random amount of ferns. Between 20-50.
