Hello everyone! I am aware some of my topics are just ideas and wishes but I would still like to share my opinion. I've expressed my thoughts to other mermaid fans in-game and decided I'd try making a post here. Please bear with me, it's my first time posting a topic! 

Corsair is easily my favorite class and the sole reason why I picked up BDO again after just trying it in 2019. The skills are colorful and fun, being able to summon water to kill my enemies is amazing. I'm a huge mermaid fan, and it was a childhood dream of mine to have a game where I could create and customize my own mermaid while interacting with other players like a typical MMORPG. However, Corsair's inner mermaid feels a little lackluster. When she first came out I expected her Sea Lung Skill to give her a complete tail while in water, but it doesn't. Even her mermaid form doesn't last more than a few seconds while swimming. When her awakening came out I was disappointed she kept to her pirate theme, a playable mermaid class in an MMO was something new and would have been an interesting path to expand on. Additionally, I think it would have brought in a new audience of players looking to live their mermaid fantasy like myself. Although I do think the mermaid/pirate combo is a wonderful idea I still wish there was more detail or emphasis on her as a mermaid. 

As a "fashion endgame" player, I feel like Corsair hasn't received many new items to add to the originality of our characters. She didn't get the new valentines day outfit which was a big disappointment for me as I really want more options for my Corsair. Overall I'm hopeful for new outfits and excited to see what's coming.

After finding this in-game I wondered why at least her succession/mermaid form doesn't look similar in theme to this (at least in water):

Potential Updates Ideas

- Corsair currently has one voice option

- Ability to customize the mermaid form

Outfits / Costumes 

- Hasn't been many Corsair exclusive outfits

- A few mermaid themed outfits would be amazing 

- The mermaid part of her costume(s) have full tails compared to what we have in-game

Changes to her mermaid form underwater 

- I'd love an actual mermaid tail that we could customize (if not at least have)

- Retain the mermaid form while in water even if not swimming or have it optional 

- Permanent mermaid form or having extended stamina in the water considering you see that form for 2 seconds and it being a burst action (Maybe those who chose succession could have this)

- More customization on the half mermaid form. 

These are my thoughts and ideas, please feel free to comment! I'd love to hear from fellow mermaid lovers about their thoughts on Corsair as a mermaid.

I completely agree.  I was actually very disappointed that in "mermaid" form, she still has legs and feet.  Every TV/movie/art mermaid I've ever seen has a fish tail.  Just hearing that she could turn into a mermaid, I completely expected at some point she'd change into having a fish tail.

I was actually surprised I didn't see more people complain about it.  To me, a mermaid with no fish tail is as bad as a unicorn with no horn.

Her mermaid abilities in the ocean are also lackluster at best.  Just doesn't seem very mermaid-like that if her ship is destroyed in the ocean, she still has to wait for someone with a boat to rescue her.  I would think for a mermaid, that would be very embarrassing.

Honestly the mermaid is the only reason why I got into BDO. This literally needs more attention. As a long time player, of the old Pirates of the Carribean MMO this was the closet I get to recreating that feeling. I want to pour my time and energy into the game but there's no reward, no reason to focus on Corsair. I honestly wish this post got more attention.

Althought I don't spend much time on my own corsair, I agree.

This game could be so much more to us hardcore fans but it's a lack of support from the developers. I feel like I'm playing Star Citizen having to wait so long for updates for the corsair.

I'm also "fashion endgame" player and watching all the different types of fashion youtubers out there. I can't help but think it's also a lack of foresight from the developers. Did they just not think people cared about the class? I actually have a hole burning in my pocket for it, and I WOULD PAY ANYTHING for some outfits.

THIS IS MY DREAM EXACTLY. I've been watching this player on Twitch, and she's been playing a corsair as well. She's a relatively new player but her entire theme is mermaid. Imagine if we got to see her walking around in a tail, or having more abilities like being a siren. There could definitely be some ideas borrowed from the Homer's Odyssey.

Imagine the role playing possibilities we could have. Ah but SO MANY great ideas here thank you so much for posting such an articulate post. And LMFAO @curtisrosseau I totally agree I would pay so much money for anything mermaids.

corsair is my most fav new class, sadly she is too tryhard with grinding, lahn is just too good.

As much as I want more corsair outfits...after seeing what they did with the newest Nova outfit... I don't know if I want them looking at corsair outside of balance changes. It was surprising and disappointing the direction they decided to go with corsair however at this point I expect so little from PA that it's barely a blip on the radar.

I really hope PA doesn't keep ignoring the community, my expectations are so low now.
