What minimal changes would you request that could be a complete game changer?

After seeing someone just randomly downvote everyone today, an easy suggestion is to remove the downvote button in the forums. It doesn't do anything but discourage people from taking part in conversations. Reddit does it, but it's a cesspool of toxic trash and it doesn't do it because it wants a self-moderating system but rather they do it because it causes drama and feeds into the algorithm monster.

In an effort to improve the notorious toxic community, my humble little suggestion is to just delete the downvote button. It would be a minimal change (takes 2 minutes, literally) and is a game changer.

I never pay any heed to the votes, but recently YouTube removed the count on the dislikes.  They still have a dislike button, it just seem to have any function now.  You have to actually download a third party tool to view the dislikes on YouTube.  Other forums offer multiple buttons without dislikes such as;

Flag! - This exists already as Report here.

Insightful - Meaning this post has some helpful knowledge.

Like - I like this.

Agree - I totally argee with what they said.

Awesome Idea! - Pretty much says it.

LoL - Very funny.

I don't pay attention to these counters either and the one I saw with the "LoL" button, I think it was being used as dislike.   Some forums hand out badges for getting likes, such as the toxic Reddit forums.  I gave up on those Reddit posts faster than 4chan.  LoL  If I am seeking answers in a Google search, my brain hesitates clicking on any Reddit answers.  Not because of votes, but I will be looking up an answer to a problem and the post will have the same problem and only the trolls answer them back.

BTW I  did +1 your post up there, should that matter.  Maybe if they showed us who downvotes the topic it would also be different?

Expand the number of residences we can own by one every time a new area is released.  Or at least put in coupons for more in the pearl shop, like with character slots.

Yes, Twitter is awful as is any other social network but these are forums which are supposed to be moderated. There aren't that many new posts each day anyway and there's a report button for those who break the rules. Removing the downvote button removes anonymity, in fact there isn't a need for an upvote button either. A forum should be a place for discussions with decorum. I proposed the suggestion because I believe companies like PA should moderate forums and people should act appropriately (or be punished as a concequence).  Upvote/downvote is a digital dick measurement and we all know it. It should be done away with because BDO does breed negative behaviors from many parts of the game and maybe one way to minimize this is to start with something simple-- the forums. Just a thought.

I can either Reply to a bad idea and repeat the same thing over and over or I can just hit the dislike button when someone says the same thing over and over for the 500th time.  Why should I need to type out the same reply to a really bad idea 500 times, when I can just hit a dislike.

"The voting serves a purpose, either up or down.  I especially like that the voting shows number of ups and number of downs vs what Reddit does where it's just a total score.  If you look at the older posts that were really really bad, they got a like maybe 2 and everyone would respond with "U R STUPID" after just to make sure people realized that a really stup ea was not supported in any way shape or form.

Twitter for example has no downvote and people talk about "ratios" of likes, shares, and replies.  Twitter I would argue is the most toxic environment there is for forums.  "

I would like to see that, a list of who liked and disliked the post instead of anonymity if we had to keep the upvote/downvote system. The more tools we have against trolls and toxic behavior, the better. However, there is no purpose to the vote system so I ironically vote to remove it entirely lol

What are you talking about? It functions perfectly as intended.

Its more of a poll system, that recently revealed the majority of feelings toward suggestions, such as the one where you wanted PvE servers.

It got the most dislikes in the thread, then you deleted it.

Not everyone got a downvote, you are just mad no one liked your PVE channel suggestion. I vote we keep it. Its a becon to the staff of what the players want around here. Nothing toxic about it. If not for the Downvote, the forums get spammed with responces like "dumb idea, boo, and etc."

I never said they did. But clearly the thought of removing a useless feature is upsetting to some people LOL

Back on page 1, post #4, I suggested users mods.  My friend who played with me this weekend replied to my idea in game chat.

"That's a horrible idea!  Then you will have people making nude mods and uploading the mods for others to download."

My point is, you would have to be the pervert who downloaded such a mod pack.  However I told him there is another solution, if you wanted to prevent it from becoming a thing.   The solution does complicate things for the developers, making it less than simple or minimal.

PA could make in game editor (like the music composer) using a customized format and preventing some skins from being edited at all.  I have noted the beauty shop album contains thumb nails of boobs, butts, and even a goblin where a shai is suppose to be.  Personally when I upload a new look to the beauty album, I dress it down (no pearl shop items),  and I focus the camera on the face, unless it is a full body mod.  Anyway the texture editor would be a lot of work and impressionable children shouldn't play BDO in the first place... some adults too.  In the end, it was PA who made all the waifu in this game and attracted people to make these custom creations.

Have fun!
