wtf is this male classese discrimination?! i have been asking for a death knight dark elf male for years!!! all you do is female classes over and over again!

There are no male elves in the lore. The bdo elves abduct males from other species for reproduction.

Archer class sais: "Hi. I am a Luthragon. An elf man."

"If 60% of the game population is Male then they will target about 60% of their attention towards the male audience and vice versa."

This is a horrible way of thinking marketingwise, since you refuse to realize untouched target groups. The male audience is already satisfied and plays the game and if it is the optics why they play it they can feed this through outfits for existing classes.

A more intelligent way would be to address target groups that do not currently play the game so that they start playing it. And this you can achieve by providing a lot of offerings towards multiple tastes.

Yeah surely, if they add a another random dude, more women will start playing the game (especially given the fact that a good amount, if not the mayority, of the female players also play a female character).

Let me show you some real market analysis:

Generally there are 3 types on players in this sense:

-The ones who want to look at pretty things (or da booty).

-The ones who seeks self insert/want to flee from reality.

-The ones who play for the gameplay. They don't care about the gender.

The last doesn't matter here.

The first means usually starting a female class. There are certanly some woman out there who likes staring at bulky man, and some male ones aswell, but they are insignificant numerically.

The second one for female players usually mean starting some pretty female class. As for male player there are certanly some sad ones who create a male so they can selfinsert and run away from the reality(like op), but the mayority create their female ideal instead and use it as waifu material.

If we would look at profit maximalizing, female classes are the go to. But in reality PA don't care about it(they are not desperate enough yet). The only reason why we are getting a female instead of male is that their china release is not going as planed, and they already bleeding players due to lack of content, so they are forced to release the dragon lady before the monkey.

PA ain't make the bulk of their money from selling waifu clothing. They make ~80% of their revenoue from "convenience" P2W. It doesn't matter if you melt some sweatty dude's shirt or some string underwear, they give the same amount of crons....

A considerable majority of women prefer to play female characters.

Anecdotally, my wife also prefers to play female characters.

As a female, I like that PA has so many female characters. We are the superior gender anyway!

On a side note, devs are really aware of what can make a female character "attractive", but they're not as good when it comes to male characters, to my opinion.

Still, BDO is doing better than many other games on this point, but that may explain the current trend. If, from the start, devs from any game were good at making male character, it might have been different now.
