I have less than 40 in my inventory, but as of today, these are nothing more than useless paperweights to me. The developers didn't reduce the value, they are no price.  I sold mine off to vendors because I chose not to play their refinement game.  I am not against people who like gambling on upgrading armors, and no matter how many Crons you have there is always a percentage chance to fail.  I decided awhile back not to use the Crons but sell them off to vendors.  To me when the dice game gave me Crons, I was pleased to get them.

Free Crons are no longer any value to me.  If I could, I would gladly give away the ones I own to players who want or need them, but they won't allow it.  This is more than junk drop now, to me this is garabage for the trash.  It is my opinion, they should have given it more thought and at least made them a silver sink in the CM?  I understand vendors generate silver from nowhere,  so why not sink the Crons in the CM?  The CM is existing player silver with the existing 15% to 35% tax sink.

I don't expect others to feel the same as I do, about this decision.  There is a small chance other players might feel the same as I do.  The game is property of Pearl Abyss, so I ask the developers, how do you think other players who don't use the Crons will feel about you "gifting" them an item without any game value?  I won't be thrilled about getting more Crons in the future, they will just end up in my recycler.

Have fun!

Their "refinement game", as you called it (enhancing), has been the center of criticism of this game since launch.  Players, generally, do not like RNG for progress and for good reason.  However, through the years, as players have played more, I think many have gotten used to it and accepted it for what it is -- casino style progression.  We realize its pitfalls, but understand this is one way the company makes money to keep the game afloat.  I am neither supporting or am up in arms by saying this, trying to keep a neutral stance.

Cron Stones, inherently, have a lot of value.  They allow for "free taps"; enhancement attempts without risk of armor and weapon level degredation and prevents accessories from completely blowing up by giving a chance for a level decrease instead of totally disappearing.  When you think about how much silver some accessories cost, IE: TRI Distortion Earring which costs around 5 billion silver, the value of Cron Stones starts to become apparent.  Say a player makes 350 million per hour of active grinding.  5 billion, essentially, equates to just over 14 hours of active game time.  Cron Stones acts as a shield to either keep that 14 hours in tact, or greatly reduce the risk of losing it all in one enhancement attempt.  They, if factored into equations like this, are exponentially worth more silver / time than if sold to vendor.

Of course, this all depends on how you play the game.  One thing I like about BDO is the amount of freedom players have to choose how they want to play.  I know you, Looney, aren't an elitist, or someone that places priority on gear-chasing.  And that is PERFECTLY fine, it is your game and I honestly love your posts from time to time explaining how you derive enjoyment out of BDO.  It's refreshing to read, you don't constantly complain about being PK'd by people who have more gear than you, you don't whine about FPS = DPS, or many of the other common things people gripe over this game.  If Cron Stones hold little value to you, then by all means, sell them to vendor, since it is your hands on the keyboard, no one elses!

I am just wanting to shed a little light on Cron Stones, from the perspective of someone who does enjoy chasing gear-gains.  Crons are very, very valuable, in my opinon.  Stricly based on how the game is built on RNG for item enhancement.  Again, I am not trying to support or condemn how it is setup and am trying to remain neutral.

But if I were to give an opinion, RNG item enhancement is a detriment to online gaming as a whole, creates an online, P2W casino that I do not appreciate, and degrades the online gaming sphere in such a way that motivates companies to create more P2W in their games.  Gone are the glory days of gaming, back when arcades and LAN parties were the best hangout spots for gamers and where game-experience, knowledge, and skill were the only things needed to succeed.  But you take the good with the bad and make grown up decisions.  BDO offers me enough personal enjoyment to overlook the advantage whales have over casual spenders, like myself, or non-P2W players, since it is also MY hands on MY keyboard, and P2Wers / no-lifers don't bother me much since I'm mostly focused on my own thing, and whether I'm the best or not doesn't bother me as long as I keep achieving the gear-goals I set out for myself, at my own pace.  I don't care what guild I'm in, siege guild T1, whatever, as long as the people are cool.  Currently in the siege guild, but in the "sister" guild since I can't make most sieges on Saturdays due to work, but this guild is welcoming enough to keep me in their ranks to fight in node wars when my schedule allows.  Some IRL friends in there too, which is great to play alongside.  About your Crons, may I suggest storing them in a far-off, mostly unused storage?  They only take one slot by being stackable and storages have no wieght limit.

TL:DR - Who cares if you're enjoying the game you're playing!  But I would've gladly taken them off your hands, if it were possible, LOL!

@PeaceInChaos thanks for taking the time to read and understand.   I do appreciate those players making "better armor and weapons" for me.  I currently am running mostly Akum TRI: Ultimate gear on most of my characters.  At one point, I was going to offer silver for the Dragon Slayer scythe, but was informed by other players in chat the Dandilion was its replacement, so I purchased that instead.  I bought one at TRI but plan to replace it with PEN some day.  However I won't refine the one I own, I will buy another from the CM and sell this one off.  I do need and acknowledge those people, who either enjoy or desire, upgrading weapons and armor.

Random refinement has been introduced too often in many games.  My husband and I are old school D&D players.  I often talk to him about this subject, as he is a subcontractor for a large company, who recently made a game, I don't care to play.  I really do enjoy BDO a lot, and he scowls at me when I say, "Why can't your game be more like Black Desert?".  I know BDO cannot be perfect, but it is the best I have played in a very long time.  At least they have things in place to reduce the RNG odds of losing, such as; Nadders Band, Valks, Caphras, and Crons.  I have just grown bitter to the casino style upgrades, and I am someone who actually enjoys the quarter and nickle slots at the local casino!

I sell my Caphras in CM, so I ask the developers again, (yeah like they take time to read) why make these paperweights?  Looking on the brightside, they made the Black Spirit Adventure board game with losing squares now.  Not all squares I land on are winners.

Have fun!

How to kill Black Desert Episode 2457: Changed so that you can no longer sell Cron Stones at Shops.

So a useless item, became even more useless now. . .and before you come and tell me that cron stones are good, after 20+ straight fail PEN attempts with cron stones, i can tell you that buying from the market is the only way to go.

If we are no longer able to sell them, they are completely useless.

500+ crons for a guaranteed FAIL attempt.

20 fails is bellow avarage tho.

As for ppl who want to get rid of their crons, they can just tap armors and weapons with crons and extract the chapras on fail and sell that, as 5% of the cron used is converted into chapras.

Below average my @$$.

PEN in Europe cost 9 bill silver.

That's like 9 days of semi-casual grinding.

Do you even know how much bill silver it cost to 20 tap with cron stones?

Also how long it's gonna take you to win all of the preorders from the marketplace to melt the costumes?

Make the math.

Only addicted junkies make their own PENS.

Got offended?

Feel free to rage.

Here is your "math"

On 100fs you have 3.3% chance where you're looking at an avarage of 31 taps.

On 157fs you have 5.01%. That's where it's 20 tap on avarage to get it done.

On 200fs you have 6.3% chance, that's where you have 16tap on avarage.

Fs above 200 is where you want to build stack and not succeed with boss.

You did not mention how much fs did you use, but unless you're using something way above 200fs, your story is not noteworthy. There are ppl with 30-40 fails. Heck salt did had one with a 130 fail streak if I remember correctly...

Give me 200 FS. It's unrealistic. And even if you succeed do 200 FS, count how much it costs. And we still have only 6,3% chance. 6,3% in BDO = 0% chance.

Fact is that crons are worthless. You can play with them and, just like eg. me, you can use them to make manos tools for tet to save those few billion. Thats all. For end game items they are totally useless. Eg. for pen bs weapon you need 3670 crones. Absurd. I currently have 20696 crones waiting for ... what for? For 5 clicks with 3% chance? Absurd. Cron enchanting should have a 100% chance of success, only then would it make sense. PA must understand that it will either allow players real access to the best items in the game or BDO will remain what it is now, i.e. a zombie game.

Some ask me: why are you still playing? I don't play, 90% of the time on afk cannot be called playing. I'm currently just waiting for the end of the life skill event and this is waiting for me:

So I will only log in for daily rewards and world bosses. I totally don't care about the new winter area (especially with this idiotic debuff again) and the new class because it won't change anything if the core of the game is bad.

?!?! *blinks eyes, trying to process* *restarts* LOL!!!

Maths for first grade class shows that 6 is bigger than 0(without words: 6>0). Your "brilliant" logic is incredible. Best of the best.

I have to admit. This was entertaining to read.
