And yet steam players raised from 15 000 to 22 000. Its normal some people not to like BDO. Been OwPvP game make it niche MMO. Devs know it. And again they know PvE server wont work now.

In a month, these 22k will become 12k again.

Can you explain why these players will leave?

Because we know the answer: toxic open pvp and a sick enchanting system without progress.

It's not a question of whether it's good or bad.

The question is which one is worse because Pearl Abyss created a Lose/Lose situation.

I love a seemless open world multiplayer game.  It just doesn't work in BDO.

The fact remains BDO isn't designed as a proper MMO.  It can't sustain a higher MMO player base.

People need to recognize these differences.

The community also isn't capable of recognizing real situations.  All I ever see is me me me me what I want me me me.  There are no considerations to what the game experience would be like for something with poor vision for example.  Or hand issues, or 1,000 other potential issues.  It's understandable they wouldn't play a MOBA.  That would require hand eye coordination and quick reflexes.

But what happens in BDO with that situation?  The reality is a portion of the community would just take advantage of that person.  People would just steal their rotations and kick them out during events.  And what are they to do?  Never partake in the "good content"?  Farm the out dated content?  There is no place for those people in BDO's current live servers.  Not at end game.

Actually, the "me me me" thing you're talking about is from those asking to change BDO's core design philosophy.  "I don't like DFS", "I don't like getting ganked" etc.  I try to keep things non-personal, and when it is, I clearly state IMO.  What I am doing is simply promoting keeping this core design in tact that the devs themselves have stated ad naseum.  What you are doing is advocating for splitting the playerbase into camps, changing the core design philosophy of BDO, and further severing our PvEvP MMO community who has all played together since day 1.

The devs have stated on many occasions their desire to keep this core design of OWPvEvP in tact, but to keep on finidng ways to alleviate it for those who find issue with it.  And they have done just that.  I've already mentioned:  Channel swap CD reduced.  Season.  Olvia.  Multiple grind zones with many rotations.  Valencia silver increase.  Guild protection.  Level 49 lifeskill alts can't be PK'd.  Even Private Servers coming up.  These are all things that alleviate the issues you personally find with OWPvEvP.  If they decide pure PVE is good for the game, they'll add it.  Who knows, maybe BDO will have it eventually, but right now, the devs remain careful about big changes and I mostly support them on that.

IMO, Possible OWPVP encounters makes the game exiciting.  You never know when a conflict may arise and you have to fight, for whatever reason.  We do not have separate PVE and PVP gear in BDO like in other MMO's -- we use one set of gear.  Gear we earned.  Pure PVE takes away the thrill that BDO offers.  If players want to run in circles and do nothing but kill mobs all day, there are games that already do that -- BDO's special-feel coms from player-driven conflict, player-driven conflict resolution, and never knowing what may happen, so needing to stay on your toes.  OWPvP is the biggest way players interact in BDO.  OWPvP creates guild rivalries.  Guild alliances. Many other things based on interctions with others in the open world.  And it sometimes makes for really funny interesting interactions.  The other day, I was grinding at Orcs, minding my own business.  Some Striker hiding his name approaches me and asks DFS.  I tell him, "I'm running all PVE stuff right now, Simple Cron, Magical Beast's Draught, so I'm going to decline".  He flagged and tried attacking me.  I always try to stay aware when it comes to others, and saw him flag for PVP and we fought.  I successfully killed him, which took a double CC because Striker is tanky against Sorc, but I was able to successfully defend myself.  But it took a while because he was pretty tanky.........then, while we were fighting, another player comes in from the guild Crawling Chaos.  I am guessing their guild is warring with this ghilled Striker, and the Crawling Chaos player helped me deal with this flag happy Striker lol.

It was so funny, the Striker, who has innate magic evasion, flags up on a Magic Damage class wearing Kutum in PVE buffs and loses 1v1, then re-flags, and gets PK'd by a guild his guild is in war with.  This was so much fun, if only for its entertainment value.  The Crawling Chaos player and I chatted briefly, ended with smiley emojis, then went on own separate ways and I was able to finish my session in peace.  This would never happen in a themepark, PVE only setting, or a Diablo / PoE / Warframe setting, similar to what pure PVE server would be.

OWPvEvP makes BDO a true, special gem of an MMO that stands out in today's overly saturated themepark MMORPG market.
