What are you talking about?  Seasons still exist.

Well your implying they dont. They are pve servers.

Edit:I was meaning the other dude my bad-, the one complaining about PvP. Im not 100% sure why they just want the game to be pve only when the game was originally marketed as a owpvp game...

The same people down voting my comments , are the same people who want zero incentives for normal servers. They want full access to the game but ignore the fact its a pvx game. If you want pve servers you need a exchange for something instead of " i want the game this way" not this " i want allow griefing to rampant on all servers with out any draw backs". The fact lays in everything has a value an you need to make the value balanced.

This was hidden by admin due to the reports it has received.

I am actually genuinely curious what the direction is.  If everyone gets one hour a day in their own private server, I'd imagine open world PvP will now be limited to only those who grind more than one hour a day.  I imagine this will really lower the amount of activity.

Also they are focusing on things like cutscenes and the story (lol).  I don't see the point it will probably still be terrible and not competitive with story driven games like ffxiv.

and other comments that hint they just gave up on really balancing PvP given the game is old and gear discrepancies are too time consuming to overcome to be worth bothering with for most people.

Reverse the one hour PVE: make it one-hour PVP instead.

Yep, downvote magnet :)

Make it so players can drop caphras artifacts and pot pieces lol. (Not from their own stash - just have the game generate rewards)

That sort of thing might well change the attitude towards PvP.  But there would need to be underlying "rankings". If the PKed rank is too low, no drops. And more drops for PKing a higher rank.

Is that a one-hour "purge" movie thing?

Err seasons doesnt exist anymore? Upto level 49 is still protected... Doesnt that just counter your own argument...?

Fine with me tbh, I'll gladly take the -50 drop rate for PVE servers.

Curious why the Devs don't just open PVE servers at this point.  They've already done everything but.

Originally PvP was protected until level 49.

Then we had Olvia changed to PvE only so new and returning players don't have to PVP no matter the level for their first month.

Then we had the emergence of constant seasons, which people can do a fair amount on, with no PVP.

Now we get 1 hour a day of personal grinding not having to deal with PvP on normal servers.

Between all of these changes I'm wondering how much PvP is really left in the open world, especially since it will be very easy to avoid if you grind for only an hour a day.

If you can't make the difference between permanent and 1 hour a day, that's worrying.

Jokes aside, if you pay attention to this change, this is not a change made for PvEers. It's a change for casual players, this hour will allow them to quietly burn their agris, scrolls, everything we all get on a regular basis but which mainly helps players with a reduced playtime.

It may surprise some people here, but I'm not against such an idea. For sure, I'd prefer a well made pvpve system, but at least this change targets the right population, for them this change will mean a LOT, while it may be a drop in the bucket for players with more playtime.

So yes, it will remove players from the owpvp, yes, sadly. But intensive grinders won't be able to hide there all day long and will necessarily come back to the normal gameplay sooner or later.

And, in case some of you really didn't understand what it meant :

- it buries even more the idea of having regular pure pve channels in BDO

- if you meet a player on a hunting ground, he's even more likely to be a regular player, and not a defenseless casual player. It may become even wilder now when a conflict arises.

- it will slightly release the pressure on popular spots

- it will allow a better knowledge of hunting spots (it is sometimes hard to discover rotations on popular spots).

... Well, in the end, the only ones who may feel unhappy with this change are hardcore pure pve players who still didn't get a pvp-free experience of BDO. Still, they're narrow-minded enough to think this change was directly aimed at them, funny, don't you think? XD

PvPers prefer this type of attitude then what has been posted in the past "we want pve only servers but with the same reward" type attitude thats why alot of the time they get flamed by people who like pvp tbvh, but some pve players just think we are all like that singular person or group on a server intentionally making peoples lives hell.

For the people who think this would kill main servers having a pve server with -50% drop , honestly it wouldnt because everyone would still want main servers for increased drop rate... It would feel to low for what most are used to. And litterally every guild would be on other servers because of looking for spots with the 3 tier system for server swaps. Might crash other servers for a month maybe then it would regulate just like pvp servers

Keep in mind the one hour servers are for people who work long hours and want to do a hours grind so it will change nothing , it might also help the PvE players who want these PvE servers. We should wait an see how it goes might even change some peoples minds as they will have their own private space anyway for a hour
