Go to the feedback page, type in Dungeon in the search bar.  There were 5 requests from the point that PA took over until they anounced Atoraxxia in May/June, all those threads "looked" like they had a ton of support.  There were even more of those posts on Kakao's forum from the NA/EU page.  No this isn't something KR asked for this is something that NA/EU PvEers asked for, and it totally failed.

Don't understand the need for the unnecessary snark in your response.  Clearly I understand the difference between 1 hour and permanent. 

I'm only saying the devs have made more and more moves towards PvE-only, aside from full time PvE normal servers.  My OP was noting the progression towards more and more PvE-only situations, now culminating in "casuals don't need to exprience PvP on normal servers if they only grind one hour a day" which is probably most casuals.

Now removing "casuals" as you put it from PvP entirely, I'm curious how much of an open-world PvP scenerio really is left.  I guess the last of the low-hanging fruit to "PvP" will be afk horse trainers I guess.  And, as you noted, more hard-core players.

I'm fine with the change.  I'm casual and don't grind more than an hour a day, and even then only a couple times a week.  This is great for me, I never have to be bothered again.  That said, I didn't mind open-world PvP as it currently is since it's so rare already.  Also how Karma works, someone can only kill you a few times before giving up due to that system, and for some reason I have like 500 Elion Tears from events so it has little impact on me even without this change.  I learned this a few days ago when someone just wandered into my rotation and without typing at all just flagged and killed me 7 times, and then left after they were unable to grind over me without killing me.

As I said: most bdo players are not too smart, don't know what they expected, and certainly not what they got.

I wrote from the very beginning that it would be epic fail and it happened. Same as new horse racing with very bed horse movement, yar card game without any rewards and many other things.

We even have a new candidate for new meaningless BDO content: horse taxi. Anyone else remembers the possibility of renting horses with too many restrictions? No one? It does not surprise me. Now horses (even dream) will spawn in bdo world and everyone will be able to use them for a limited time. And this is another proof that the PA has no idea about his game. Because we all know thats players  use horses for riding because they have to, but more importantly the horse is used as a mobile overloaded trash backpack. So who will use these horse taxis, since knowing the PA, such a horse will disappear after 10-15 minutes? No one.

I would use a "free" Pegasus mount for some screenshots as I'm not willing to spend $31 to get S-Sideways for a courser lol.

Not OP but I had quit because of this very reason at first. I was tired of getting killed every time i wanted to tend my garden or horse train. The fact that there are no safe place to train horses is stupid considering you have to AFK to horse train. The only method which you can avoid direct PvP while horse training is to use a level 49 character. How is that supposed to be a valid option when you just want to main one character?

I wasn't the only one who left, my friends left as well. When I ask people about BDO in other games, people unanimously laugh because it's "full of griefers" and "it's pay to win RNG". That is the global view of the game. No matter where you go, no matter what community you go to, that is what people think when you ask them their thoughts on BDO for the majority of the time.

BDO isn't the griefest it once was under Kakao. In fact, I would argue that the majority of the players who hate BDO is because of Kakao's awful servers that were down almost all the time, making the game unplayable for almost a full year. PvP griefing was a huge thing at the time and with the awful RNG mechanics that people usually agree sucks, it was a no-brainer to just leave the game especially since it was only like $10 (or $40 if you are from the really early days of the game).

I left for the second time when the servers were miserable and kakao refused to do anything about them. Month after month it was the same story. "sorry, here's a free thing but we won't do anything about it". I returned last year only because my account was going to be deleted if I didn't. A few friends also did the same. I had access to PvE servers so I said "why not?" and gave it a shot. Since then, I have been mostly on PvE servers thanks to season.

If they could add PvE servers, this game would have 3x the population easily. PvP in an mmoprg isn't something most people care about, this is a gaming fact. PvP in BDO is also severely screwed up it makes me wonder why open world PvP even exists at this point. No, I won't DFS because I'm a shai and you're pretty much every other class.

As long as you'll keep using the outdated "pvp vs pve" mindset, you probably won't understand the snark.

What you consider as moves for pure pve is in fact far more logical with an pvpve setting and controlled owpvp in mind. And surprise, a "controlled owpvpve" (not a bad acronym, I think ^^) is what we have on a majority of channels in BDO.

The removal of excessive penalties in direct pvp death, of owpvp during boss fights, of returning veterans from Olvia, the relative tolerance from devs toward body throwing and mob feeding, the existence of restricted seasons channels with pve AND pvp channels, the creation of a dungeon WITH OWPVP, and now an hour per day to grind...

Say what you want, but it looks more like moves to allow casual players to have the time to discover and appreciate many aspects of the game including its pvp, than moves to protect pve players. Above all those who grind more than 1 hour.

Well, do you wonder if, by asking around you or looking for topics by yourself, you are not actively creating a bias in the answers you get? ^^

I know that this is a PvPvE game, and I don't have "outdated pve v pvp mindset".  Like I said I don't even personally mind OWPvP as for me it's already uncommon.

But I don't see how having all players remove themselves from the open world for one hour a day is in any way promoting or controlling open-world PVP.  It's removing it entirely for a lot of people with casual playstyles.

You can view this as supporting open world PVP somehow.  I just don't see how putting people on private servers one hour a day where there are NO OTHER PLAYERS has anything to do with supporting open world PvP and not people interested in PvE.

For someone with hints of condescention I don't think your argument makes any logical sense.  I remain steadfast in my opinion that the Devs have done nothing but walk back open-world PVP over the years, rather than encouraging it in any way.

Long term I wonder what data will show for this change.  Probably lots of people playing one hour and then afking/sitting in town or logging out.
