With a new person (Huh Jin-young) taking the lead as CEO, I wonder what will come of PA? Will it be better? Worse? Hopefully better of course.
I know many of us are on copium life support for certain things like the absolute mess that is desync, the lackluster progression feeling of the game, the game breaking bugs that existed since its release and the lack of PA feedback/communication with its playerbase to name a few. I hope that this will turn the company around and we'll be able to see great strides not just for BDO but other games that they are working on *cough Crimson Desert cough *
Anyway, there's no sense of being sinister about this. New CEOs can be either better or worse for a company but looking at Huh Jin-young, he looks like he's got that youthful spark in him. Here's hoping good things are coming :)
Congrats on the promotion, dear CEO!
OP, honestly man, have you played other MMORPGs? I mean, i agree that not everything is perfect here and that one should not look down and compare one´s aspirations to others who deliver less (in this case: other developers and publishers). But honestly, all of it is not that bad. Communication? For a western audience we get treated decently from a Korean dev. I suggest you try an NCSOFT mmo and see how much you get dumped on there. Things certainly can improve further, can become a bit more professional around here in all aspects, but "being on life support" -- that makes me suspect folks here have been spoiled in years. Which probably is sort of a compliment to the company running this, I reckon.
they have just invested heavily in marketing for bdo to attract new players. players who found themselves blocked many times by the bugs of the new region...
in my opinion, they should review their marketing budget and invest more in internal testing of the game before releasing content with so many issues...

ye our new north korea chairman ^_^
and do you think he say huh often and does he is a young jin ?
I, for one, welcome our new corporate gaming overlord.
C-suite folks won't really have much if any impact on features, marketing, etc. Too far into the weeds. But they do look at product lines, ROI, industry trends. Also depends on the nature of the board of directors.
Could be good, bad, or neutral, fast or slow. We're just along for the ride.
So lets see.
"new" region is super bad, even if they unnerf drop rates its still empty.
new class just another FOTM milker with booba, just like corsair or sage or anyone else before them.
not a single mechanic problem fixed, FPS/Mouse movement, insane amount of hidden mechanics, revealing misses made even more problems (DK don't miss vs eva ninja and can't hit DP striker/mystic because they have 99% hidden evastion vs DK).
"Ranked" arena nowhere near - probably impossible to make it "equal" when 1 class simple can't do anything vs other by hidden class balance.
A lot of promises and futures that was announced during last 2-4 balls don't even come to global lab server (Khan+Vell, Blue Battle field, sending other character as workers, etc).
CEO run away
So where new CEO starts ? Will he keep promissing new stuff that will never come out ? Will he try to fix major game issues ? Personally i think nothing going to change, old CEO was sacrifice to shareholders as game losing playerbase ( replacing old players with trial like EU do not really help game in long term).

I'd never consider NCSOFT a proper game publishing company TBH. If a game has their logo on it, I will immediately pass

Don't know. Usually the CEO has very little to do with this sort of thing and it falls onto the creative director. However, if the CEO sees a problem they may use their position to rectify it. The CEO is in the position to allocate budget and staff to certain projects however, it's very possible that the BDO department will get more budget and staff instead of the 3 interns we have now (jk but it sure feels that way sometimes).
Not much we can do except hope that good things are coming and it won't turn into the new CEO turning PA into the next NCSOFT *shrug* :)

all the companies change their ceo even when the companies go well, sometime the guy just want retire or do something else or get better pay
