i was not playing during the oasis event. what i am wondering, and cannot tell from various videos, comments etc - did the items for the event have expiration dates?
for instance if i understand things correctly at least some of the items were what would normally be fairly expensive meals that give great buffs, and they were selling for 1 silver each. were players able to buy say maybe 1 million of these? and then to this day those meals are still sitting in their bank as they slowly use them up?
and if i understand it compasses were also on sale for 1 silver? were people who played during that time just able to buy a million compasses and then never have to worry running out of them?
just curious. and no i am not asking for another oasis event (sure it would be nice) but this info would help me to understand some of the game economy more.
thanks for info!
No. All oasis items were unusable after the event ended. If someone bought 1M meals, he would have 1M unusable meals that would pop up error message when trying to use. So no. What you're talking about, never happened.
ty for the info. so all the stuff did have expiration date then. useless after the event.
There was some brief confusion for some whether the gear would expire entirely, or just lose effects. That was due to some poor descriptions on the items. And there was a bit more warning given in that case too. I believe the gear was actually removed, while the other items just were not usable.
It was possible to store your items in your horse for example to try to cheat your way around them deleting it. Unfortunately, using them is impossible so you just had to throw them away. It was worth a shot since cron meals are like 400k+ on the market while these were 1silver each. :P
On top of the other answers, the Oasis compass activated the countdown on purchase, so there really wasn't any point in buying more than one at a time even during the event.
