doing the main quest line for Odyllita doing it on a Drakania that just turn level 60

in doing the main quest line for Odyllia after making level 60 on a Drakania that had done the new quest line to level it up to 56. ai did the whole first part 96 quest i think it is and got 0 xp from it and now the level on that toon is 6O with a xp of 1.4 from doing a couple side quest. Is it right to get no xp from doing the main quest line and only get xp from doing side quest?

The main questline (besides Valencia) does not grant you combat EXP. They do give other rewards such as special titles, silver, special materials for horse training, and special furniture. They also unlock other quests and dailies usually. This is intended behavior.
If you want to level up the best way is to grind or do secondary quests if you have the special Chenga Tome.
