Greetings, Adventurers! It's me, Lema Lakedaimon :D Today I'm here to gather your opinions concerning Velia! Is this city a good place to live in? Why should you get your residence here? Or why you shouldn't? At first glance, Velia may seem like a city with not that much to offer. However, it has always been very populated.
"Velia looks like a fishing village at first blush, but it is actually more of a farming village. There are plenty of farms around the town. Recently the local farmers have been troubled by wild animals mutated by Black Energy. The town Chief has always been a member of the Bartali family. The current Chief is Igor Bartali and his granddaughter, Emma Bartali, is most likely to succeed him. Abroad, Velia is known solely for its premium wines made by Indasil." - Topography, Balenos

| Location. Lovely if you love the sea, sand, fish, etc. In particular, very close to Terrmian Beach (very nice during the festival). Moreover, easy access to 3 field bosses. | Location. Very far from certain territories (e.g.: Mountain of Eternal Winter) and nodes not related to farm and sea products. |
| Good for fishers, sailors, and barterers. Velia's wharf gives you direct access to the Ocean, so it is perfect if you're interested in sea or ocean content. | Meh location for others. On the other hand, if you're not interested in this type of content, the vicinity to the sea may be useless. Also, there's a lot of traffic at the wharf. |
| Double Inn! Velia not only has one of the most famous Inns in the entire world (Lunar Halo Inn) but one in the most recent part of the wharf! | Drunk sailors. Inns are lovely while you party, but we all know the side effects. |
| Double Blacksmith! Rest is important and our dear blacksmiths know it very well. That's why having 2 of them in the same city can be very useful. | - |
| Small city. Are you lazy and you want to rest your poor limbs? Velia may be the city for you: everything you need is close since Velia is probably the smallest main city in the entire world. | Small city. If you're looking for a big city with many services and huge residences, Velia may feel even claustrophobic for you. This city can satisfy your basic needs, but if you want more, it may be better looking somewhere else. |
| No walls + Cron Castle. If you hate big and protective walls and like blown up castles, what can I say? That's your place, mate. | No walls + Cron Castle. If you like feeling protected by mighty walls and not destroyed castles may be better to look elsewhere. |
| Surrounded by farms. Are you looking for products made by farms? Iron? Copper? Ash and maple wood? Then here you can find your Eldorado! | Surrounded by farms. If you're not into farm products or Balenos nodes, the utility is simply absent. |
| Tuscany seaside village aesthetic. When you open your YouTube home, is it filled with sea or ocean 10h ASMR? Do you like to fish, boats and anything you would expect from the seaside? Then Velia is perfect for you! | Tuscany seaside village aesthetic. Are you here for the medieval-fantasy experience? Are you looking for majestic fairy cities with huge mansions, fabled and bright colors? Well, you should go somewhere else... |

Pretty cool! Here's what I think about Velia
✔ PROS
-Small city where you can get started on your adventures
-Friendly NPCs
-Quick Access to Farms
-Very close to Red Nose so we can keep bullying him
-Easy access to Cron Castle for them sweet totally not e but RP sessions
-Two cute daughters of important characters
-Nice place for retirement
✘ CONS
-Velia
-It's very dirty
-Houses are nothing special
-Lots of creepy old men
-Water
-Sand
-Calpheon Rule
-No walls to protect City

I don't know, I might be a bit bias, I had a bad experience in Velia. I spoke to Claire Arryn about her son Santo. Santo had me writing some love letters for him to Alustin's daughter. Santo is not the oddest person you are going to meet in Velia.
The arms dealer Alfredo hired me to get revenge on the tribal goblins, when he learn his lover died at their hands. But instead of actually killing the goblins, he had me kill some wolves, and smear their blood on some rocks. Personally if the man meant that much to him, he could have asked me to collect goblin hearts as trophies. He seemed upset about it, but that didn't strike me as revenge.
Artemio Fiazza is the town drunk, his house was burnt down years ago, and the community hasn't bothered to help him to rebuild it. The poor old man turned homeless and drunk. The community seems to supply him with enough to drink. It is a real shame they can't nail up a shack for him.
Shiel the central market director convinced me that "Velia was a peaceful village." and I should buy a house there. Yet, I couldn't sleep at night with all the noise from the band he hires and the illegal card games going on down there. I decided to turn the house into storage and move to Heidel. Velia was a town of fools and far too noisy at night.

Velia might be a suitable place to spend a vacation. Sometimes I have the feeling this is like a Mediterranean town from RL.
Termian beach isn't far from Velia too. :)

Pros :
- At the time you built failstacks on white +14 gear and had to use a red karma alt to die on a loop if said gear would go +15, it was the most convenient place to be.
- Access to the sea, even if sailors who don't park their ship properly at the port manager (most of them have a family tree shaped like a circle) create a freaking mess of ships clipping one onto another.
- Has always been a good AFK fishing hotspot since release, even if always crowded.
- Best spot for field bosses since 3 of them spawn directly around the city (especially during Jetina's boss coins events)
Cons :
- Sailors whose family tree is shaped like a circle
- The constant harassment of workers near the depot manager since years, aka "Do it Better !", so stressfull that this poor giant hasn't been able to finish his work while in the meantime an entire shipyard site has been constructed on the east side of the harbour. Shaïs may be a plague for productivity.

see the greatest pro you forgot is that you get to live in the same town as Igor Bartali the Legendary Adventurer this man's fabled adventures could fill a book shelf ;)
