Hi BDO community,
Let's talk about chain damage. Some may wonder what it is. AFAIK it's something exclusive to Succession Nova. So, what is it? Chain damage happens when the chain on Nova's morning star hits an enemy. If you look at Nova's morning star when she attacks you might notice it extends. Wherever the head of the weapon lands is where the full damage occurs, the chain that extends from it to the handle of the weapon is where the chain damage occurs. In other words, for Nova to do full damage like every other class in the game she has to be perfectly spaced otherwise you get penalized and do no damage. This nonsensical mechanic is the reason Succ Nova players feel like they aren't doing much damage. Why? Because enemies are usually always in melee range, thus you are doing 40% of your maximum damage.
Why PA thought this was a great idea to implement I don't know. But what I do know is that it's crippling to the class. Think about it. Succ Nova isn't doing any more damage than the other classes when perfectly spaced, it's still less. However, she is severely punished for not being perfectly spaced due to how nearly all encounters are in melee range. There is no benefit to this, there is only a consequence.
My suggestion is either:
A: Remove chain damage entirely.
Or
B: Make being perfectly spaced worth it. Chain damage should do full damage and the head of the morning star just does bonus damage.
Below are pictures of the skills so those who do not know what I mean can see for themselves. In addition, six of her skills include chain damage mechanic. But her overall usable skill kit is around 9-10 skills. In other words, skills with the chain damage mechanic make up over half of her usable skills.
Yep, that chain damage nonsence is one of the worst things to happen to any class in BDO, along with selfharm passive, lol. And both of them happened to the same class :D
Succession NOVA was the worst grinded, they SLIGHTLY buffed her making sure they don't overbuff her pve (LOL).
The changes were irrelevant, meanwhile, today, Awakened musa (that was weak in PVE but not as weak as succ nova) got his pve dmg multipliers increased by 300-600%+!

It's soon going to be two years since the post, and since then every other class was buffed *several times*. Meanwhile, Nova got... uhhh Shift+E and a 5 sec f buff.
Welp.
I really don't know how we can get PA to finally at least acknowledge the class has issues, it is just depressing at this point. If this keeps up, there won't be succ nova mains left: they'll either abandon the class or abandon the game.

No one cares about 1vs1, we talking mainly about PVE here and if we gonna speak about PvP in large scale you better hop into a Hwacha or Flame tower or consider riding an Elephant with Succ Nova.
Also your "Combo" does little vs players with equal gear or more meanwhile Zerkers can spam (W+F) and still deal more damage than that entire "combo" ... ah and with 25% accu rate with it just in case.
Mobility is fine ? Her dash has 5s CD for it to be protected, gl catching a lot of classes in open world, even Shai can outrun you.
