Greetings, Adventurers! It's me, Lema Lakedaimon :D Today I'm here to gather your opinions concerning Heidel! Is this city a good place to live in? Why should you get your residence here? Or why you shouldn't? Heidel is the first big city every adventurer (except those who start their adventure in Driegan and Eternal Winter) found on their path.
"The capital of Serendia and a main residential area. Although Serendia has been lost to Calpheon, Heidel strove to recover and fulfilled its goal. But the Grand Chamberlain, Jordine, is not pleased with the current situation. The Xian Alliance from Calpheon is threatening the local economy of Heidel and, due to the treaty made between two cities, all extracted Black Crystals are being taken to Calpheon. Location. One of the most central cities in the world! It's close to many grinding spots both for new and veteran adventurers. It's close to some field and rift bosses too. There're a lot of spots for your fences. And it's next to the Manor. |
Traffic! Due to its central position, it's very busy! |
| Many residences! Heidel is full of residences and some of them are pretty big! (e.g. 9-3 and 9-4). | Not the biggest tho. However, to be fair, Heidel doesn't have the biggest residences (I'm not counting the Manor). Also, the houses don't have big windows, so the light may be an issue. (And they are a lil bit dirty too.) |
| Blacksmith 24/7. Even if the blacksmith on the main road is resting during the night, the other in the plaza is always available. | - |
| Vendors. Heidel is famous for its merchants, probably also thanks to Calpheon! | Vendors. No Fruit Vendor or Herb Vendor. |
| Double Inn! Exactly! Heidel has not only one Inn, but two!! Valley Lily Inn (North Inn) and Golden Toad Inn (South Inn)! | Double Inn..? If you're more into the quiet study and not parties, this may be an issue. You may find elephants. |
| Walls & Castel. The citadel of Heidel is protected by mighty walls and there's also a huge castle next to it. And it's not exploded! *cough* Cron Castle *cough* | Walls & Castel. The walls may get in the way and the Castle it's well protected and not that easy to visit. |
| Jarette Domongatt. LMAO I was joking. Jarette CAN NOT be a pro. No, actually the PRO is that she's filthy rich and we got her Manor. | Jarette Domongatt. Daughter of Lord of Heidel, Crucio Domongatt, Jarette survived after the Heidel Castle fire during the war. Because not even the Hell wants her. She will judge you and then yell at you, in this order. |
| AFK Training. The main street parallel to the river is an easy road where you can AFK training horses. | AFK Training. Although, due to this reason, the road is very busy. Moreover, Heidel is quite notorious for the adventurers camping right out of the safe zone to kill or stop AFK players. |

I have there mine residence too. It's close to elvia spots so for me is convinient. One more this is not backwater all roads lead to Heidel .

yes, but i never let a character there, never find a good reason to hang up there, the place look boring
the only reason i find it is heidel is closer to kamasylve temple than from tarif

I mean, it's hard to live in the BEST CITY IN THE GAME. Everything is just objectively better here. So, you get a higher class of people that you have to compete with!

Well, Heidel is a good city because it is in the middle of the map! After a few adventures with the Otters down there, I can say...
✔ PROs
-Good location
-Nice medieval European town
-Lots of Inns to drink and celebrate at
-Nice river to fish in
-Has some walls and a castle
-Easy access to the manor
-Lots of merchants and possibilities for trade
-Population is friendly toward otters
✘ CONs
-Dirty. The roads are quite muddy and everything is dusty and dirty. I wouldn't put a carpet in the residences.
-Polluted. I hope the poor soul that tripped in the nearby river gets a check-up soon.
-Quite noisy
-Population is not so friendly towards you especially if you are from Calpheon
-Dangerous. A few streets are quite dangerous in Heidel, be careful as people will try to take advantage of you
-Calpheon rule (Stay away from the Elion church)
-Jordine. This amazing Chamberlaine will stop at nothing to try and get Calpheon out. I used to wake up at night because this man kept screaming something about Calpheon. Wouldn't recommend it!
-Rats rats rats! So many rats. They need more cats in this place!
-The river is not big enough for my boat. What's with that? It's way too tight!

A town suitable to make your own workplace and do business perhaps. Also good choice between pubs to have a drink at! :)

Pros:
>Central.
>Plus, it's close to Glish which I use as a dump for ALL of my metals, woods, or anything else (I bought storage) that gets processed. I use Glish as like my processing town. Only a minute run on horse between Heidel and Glish... they may as well be considered ONE town. So, I've got almost the max 384 slots between the two.
>I have my 10 crop fences set up along the Demi River bank just outside of Heidel.
>Tarif is my dump site for anything horse related... and it's not too far off.
>Heidel's layout is easy to remember. I get so lost in Calpheon... or any other large city... or cities with many levels like Duvencrune.
>The long straight road is nice to use for my afk horse leveling.
Cons:
>Um... lots of traffic, I guess, on non-season servers. I seriously can never see Amerigo when on a non-season server. Amerigo... always surrounded by the ladies. Save some for the rest of us, buddy!
