PvP is dying cause it's shit. The balance is even worse than before the reworks, and despite PA lied that they continue the balancing, they don't (surprise), and if that would not be enough the engine is shit and everyone exploits it. PvP in this game is a joke.
And it doesn't even rewards, so why would ppl bother? Even in other games like wow, the majority play for the rewards, so?

If everything is balanced, still we have desync issues. If players have low fps compared to enemy players are a problem too. I play with 160hz monitor and when i see players who run away from me with super fast classes, it looks like they are lagging away like they have a ping of over 200. Not even old mmorpg' had those issues. These issues were the reason, that a good friend stopped playing bdo and he is a pvp freak. However it will not change that much if they balance pvp and now its more difficult to balance, cuz there are too much classes noe
Q: Why?
As a general rule, I never mix my PvP with MMOs. PvP should be a seperate animal altogether. There are very few MMOs that got it right. The original Guild Wars (not the POS remake) got it right when they introduced Factions with arenas and skill sets with seperate builds for PvP and PvE.
Meanwhile the issue with this more than anything else, PvP is often based on skillsets acquired as one progresses within the game. A fresh level 50 won't stand a chance with someone who has over 9000 skill points. Thus the longer you played determines who will win.
Games only based for PvP work better, since level and how long you play mean nothing. In Apex Legends you drop into a map with no weapons or armor, you must find them randomly scattered about the map. In the Arenas you have points to spend buying the weapons you need and with each victory you get more points than the other team to spend on better weapons. It is player skill versus player skill and not build versus build.
Q: What can we do?
I play PvE here and PvP elsewhere. There is nothing the players can do other than choose not to PvP. I really don't mind the open world PvP here, player killers sure don't bother me. Most of them are so bad, they have issues hitting an NPC, so they attack AFK players. The few that have attacked me, most regretted their decision as I wasn't AFK at the time. PvP could be removed and I would not shed a tear, it is of no concern to me here. In short, if you don't enjoy it, then why bother doing it?

And its true. The statistics systems in the game that make the rules of combat are fundamentally flawed. Class vs Class damage ratios? A 5/5 point attack speed and movement speed innate system? A buggy gear affix and flat gear affix system? AP and DP brackets? Hidden values?
Wipe it all out and make it new, this is a mess.
