Tier 10 Dine has been out for a couple of days on the NA/EU servers now now and I was one of the fortunate ones that got to play with it on day one. After riding it around nearly non-stop for the past 3 days I have come to a conclusion: It needs buffed.

Dine's water walking ability, while a very cool concept, is extremely disappointing in its current state. Currently there is very little reason to even touch the ocean in the first place, and the Dine doesn't help with that. The addition of a water stamina bar goes directly against everything that the Mythical Dine was supposed to be. The bar is so limiting that moving around in the ocean is just an outright pain. Due to how quickly the bar depletes, you are forced to completely plan out your path with islands in close proximity to one another, lest you run out of stamina and get thrown off of your horse in the middle of the water with no stamina remaining. Even if you don't get thrown off of your horse, you still have to sit at each island for 10-30 seconds and wait for your stamina to recharge.

Due to the way that the stamina works you are forced to hold space to get anywhere, as you don't lose stamina while jumping. While this in itself isn't much of an annoyance, the fact that you cannot control your direction while holding space makes the movement quite irritating to work with. You must first point yourself in the direction that you want to go, then hold space until you get there. If you stop to adjust your direction you will lose a lot of stamina and likely get thrown off of your horse in the middle of the water.

While I understand that the developers do not want players to be able to simply run to Vell or Port Ratt on the horse, this stamina system is not the solution. Why do I say this? Because the game already throws the player off of their horse if they go into the deep ocean. It is not possible to run out to Vell or Port Ratt even with infinite time on the water.

Possible solutions:
A simple solution to make the system feel a bit better is to increase the amount of water stamina available and increase the recharge rate on said stamina to make up for the increase in value. A sufficient increase would at least mean that players can move from one island to the next with less worry about being thrown off halfway through the trip, and would allow players to run without hopping across the waters.

Another solution that I feel would be appropriate is to make the Earth of Protection ability instantly restore all water stamina. This would allow players to get their stamina back once every three minutes, meaning that if they make a miscalculation and get low on stamina, they can use the ability as a last resort to cover more ground and not be forced to swim the rest of the way.

If you insist on keeping the stamina bar, at least letting players stand still in the water to regain it would be nice. Getting thrown off of the horse in the middle of the ocean is extremely irritating. Instead, make the horse lose all mobility and go into a resting mode. In this mode, the horse will regain its water stamina much like it does on land. Once it has sufficiently regained its stamina, the horse can leave the resting mode and continue moving.

My final solution to this problem is the simplest of them all: Remove the water stamina system. Giving players full reign of the shallow ocean and of the rivers flowing through the continent isn't game breaking. The entire selling point of the Mythical Dine is that it can run on water, but when it is so limited, it loses everything that was captivating about it in the first place. I would have loved to be able to run from Heidel to Calpheon on only the river simply for the cool factor, but in it's current state I can't even make it 1/10th of the way.

I have much more that I could say on this topic, but as I don't want it to turn into a rant I will leave it here.
I hope that this feedback proves valuable and that it can help get the Mythical Dine the attention that it deserves. Thank you.

I would love it if they made it so that it could simply run everyone on water where you don't need a compass, with no water stamina bar. Then it would be truly useful. Barring that, the water stamina bar needs to go down way more slowly and restore far more quickly. 15 seconds is a joke. It needs to be possible to travel around the various islands without difficulty, or there's really no point to the water walking ability. As it stands, this horse is all hype and no substance.

It's a cool flex in my opinion. It doesn't have to be so useful. I'd take it off your hands and not complain a second. As one player pointed out in a different post - get 4, slap them on a wagon and barter. Is that where we are going? Get a carrack. Horses have no business running on the sea to begin with. It's cool enough. It's exclusive. But that's just what I think.

While I agree that it's a cool flex and that in itself has value, the horse should also be somewhat similar to the Mythical Arduanatt in utility. In its current state, the Arduanatt is faster on land, can jump just as high as Dine's triple jump, has a better slow fall, and can island hop with some efficiency. With the extreme lack of content in the ocean, there is very little reason to go for a Dine over an Arduanatt. Currently the Dine is simply a 40+ billion silver alternative to a carrack for getting to the ocean grind spots.

Yeah, I hear you. PA might buff it a bit who knows. I really wish they add sea content but other than kill this or that monster. What we have at the moment is just carrack grind sea content but once you are "done"(getting nol is a bit too much work) with it there's nothing more. As for the horse - if I ever go for it water riding would be the last reason but that's just me. I hope PA hears you(all).

I just cant feel much compassion with this when other mounts like Donkey, Mini Elephant, Camel and Alpaca are left in the dust.
