≪•◦ ❈ ◦•Pros & Cons of living in Calpheon City•◦ ❈ ◦•≫
Greetings, Adventurers! It's me, Lema Lakedaimon :D Today I'm here to gather your opinions concerning Calpheon City! Is this city a good place to live in? Why should you get your residence here? Or why you shouldn't? Calpheon City used to be the biggest city in the world when the game was released and it's still one of the biggest even now!
"The overwhelming magnitude of the great city of Calpheon almost seems designed as a boast to national greatness, and has led many the first time visitor to lose their way. The city is divided into four major districts. Packed within are the markets, the parliament, the Central Church of Elionism, the Valkyrie Library, the Workshops, and more; all with their own specialized purposes." Topography, Calpheon
"Calpheon Market Street is always crowded with people. Specialties of various regions, fresh fruits, vegetables and fish are all sold together here. The market is full of buyers and sellers haggling." Topography, Calpheon Market
"Surprisingly, only a few people know about the slums of Calpheon. Failures, beggars, and wanderers gathered here and it naturally became a slum." Topography, Calpheon Slum
"The plaza within Noble District in Calpheon. Named to commemorate the establishment of Kalis, the Central Church of Elionism and the parliament are right next to it." Topography, Kalis Plaza
TL;DR Write in this thread pros & cons of living in Calpheon City!
✔ PROs | ✘ CONs |
Market Street. Merchants. A lot of them. Everywhere. Market Street is like Tiger: it has things you didn't know you need. And yet you bought it. (And, yes: fruit, too.) | Market Street. Crowd. Big and chaotic. Not the best if you're looking for a quiet place to live. |
The Slum. How the duck can be a pro? Worry not, my friend! In fact, if you have certain needs, the slum may be the right place for you. I mean... who's going to snoop around if you live there? | The Slum. Protest 24/7. Not very pretty. Not t h e b e s t if you go around with a Doom (I know sth about that one). |
Workshop District. | Workshop District. |
Valkyrie Library. Books. So many books. Amazing books. Full of knowledge. And the Valkyries! AND THE TOWER! (Yes, Lahns and Arduanatt riders, I'm looking at you). | Valkyrie Library. What are you looking for here? There's nothing to see. Go away. And shame on you cos even you thought about CONs. |
The Central Church of Elionism. If you're into that thing... Well, I'm not here to judge. | The Central Church of Elionism. Do you remember the whole thing about the Knights of Dawn? I do. |
The Parliament. | The Parliament. Do you remember the whole thing about Kamasylvia? I do. |
The Noble Quarter. Wealth everywhere. Sumptuous banquets. Artists. An awesome garden. An incredible view of the Kalis Plaza, the Central Church of Elionism, and the Parliament! | The Noble Quarter. Nobles. Nobles everywhere. Walking. Chatting. Plotting. Demanding. Complaining. S t o p. |
Slavery. I mean... if you're from O'dyllita... | Slavery. Usually, that's not very good. RIGHT RUBIN? |
"Calpheon people are so inconsiderate" - You know who says this
Pro:
- Valkyrie ladies
- Lots of books
- You can jump off from a very tall tower for fun
- Fruit merchant
Cons:
- Corruption everywhere
- Protest 24/7
- Slums
- Not very pretty to look at
- Rubin is a slave driver, you don't realize this until you're on his 40th quest
Hmm... Let me see, what I can possibly think of.
Pros:
1) Strongest human nation on the western part of the continent. Rivaled only by Valencia. (It has two well know knight orders - Delphe, Trina knights and Trina Marine knights.) Calpheon's millitary has also many veterans from various battles or wars.
2) Wealth. In most parts of Calpheon city, except the slums the architecture is on a high level. Markets are abundant. Trade flows.
3) Calpheon has access to the sea. Epheria is a large fishing town.
4) The cathedral of Elion is a sight to see and the Valkyrie's academy.
5) Wide farming fields.
Cons:
1) Diplomatic problems with the east, even after the second war with Valencia.
2) Internal problems: Rebellions, protests, saunils, khurutos, piracy...
3) Financial corruption is present even here. Greedy traders too.
4) Not tollerant to most other races, save for the elves. They are allied with Kamasylvia.
5) The parliament is sometimes indecisive.
waifu in red hair
good tower to climb
on the road between heidel and kamasylva or driegan
... on the road between ...
Goes in both columns. Stupid crowded city, narrow streets, lots of tight corners and places to get hung up riding through. Caplheon needs a bypass project, rather than all traffic having to go through the business district.
Um, pro: one of the few cities with balloon service. I mean, if you're into that sort of thing.
