If Arena Of solare if it’s a success and I have my doubts, I bet PA has them too.

Do you think we will see more Skill based game play and maybe even rewards?

What do I mean?

MMOs reward time over skill. Has to be this way, will always be this way, else the game would die. You would only have the most skilful players at the top and no way to catch them up or defeat them by spending more time in the game (time progression is also 'capped', it’s a balance (20/80)? in favor of time. Pay2win just save you time)

You can see the players that values time over skill (doesn’t mean they are not skilful, but not top tier) and you will never see them wasting their time in seasonal with capped gear, pitting their skills against like-geared classes. To them, this is a waste of their time, that can be better spent geting more grear. Fair play :)

Rarely see ‘big’ names in seasonal, but I do see highly skilled players, even on a class they have never touch, ripping though all competitors, because they are skilful, and they shine in a world where skill maters. I mean, these aren’t the FOTM player, they are annihilation such seasonals as well.

This means seasonals are a good indicator of how well Arena Of solare will fair (also reward will have a big impact) based on how many current player step back into a seasonal.

The Arena is a skilled based zone. If you’re out skilled, you can’t tell your self, ‘well I was out geared’. Nah, you where beaten fair and square, putting aside class balance (Shai vs striker Damage mod PA?), but even class balance will just show if your class its truly disadvantage or not (when average come in, excluding Shai as she is an oddity, non pvp)

You‘re skilful people will rise to the top, you average joe that thought they had skills and had never ran a seasonal to test out claimed skills, they will feel hurt and go back to normal RBF. Can't be exposed if you say.. 'Well I’m not interested in the new arena' and dont risk losing to real skill

I know PA know this… I’m impressed that they are giving this a try. But if I’m wrong and it turns out people really want the new arena (not just a hand full of skilled players) do you think we will see more skill based game play, or Will PA not want to rock the boat and upset the player base with reality?

Did you check it on GL? The class inbalances are even more pathetic there than in the regular PvP kek....

As for rewards it will not going to have notheworthy rewards, and regardless if it will die or not, it's unlikely that it will ever going to have significant rewards.

As for why, you already covered it partly. This is a P2W (or how the stupid ones call pay for convenience) game. The bulk of PA's profit comes from ppl who skip the """"content"""". If it would not be a suffering to gear in this game, then why would ppl swipe to skip it? PA already have kinda bad quarterly reports, they can't afford to undermine their own profit even more.

Sure if they change the model, they would find a way to monitise it, Infact, considering they are seeing a drop, they may be willing to experiment at this time, and why we see the arena beeing given a chance.

I would guess if they where really worried, they would be playnig a safe card by now... dropping a dwarf class of smthing like that. Somthing they know poeple have been asking for, and then pulling bank from that.

Givent PA current numbers, well it's expcted, they stagnated hard this Last year (we saw nothing), maybe becuse of the othere mmo lunches, maybe becuse PA has plans, its anyones guess. Shareholeder dont like guesswork, they like numbers :)

Additon;

People should not be quick to jump of the back of a gaming magz story. Some shareholders do (and do it to cash in when there is a likerly drop, ready to reinvest on the uptick). But at this point i cant see PA beeing worried

already at q3, and we can’t expect a q1 as that was hard covid territory. also i haven’t fully digested it, but looks ike there was a lot of restructuring of assets and cash flow on the sheets (2021)  but no huge change to over all values of assets vs liabilities. have to wait for the 2022 yf report (and if thats good, the share’s go right back up)

some ivester are seeing this and given PAs new and repuation, are still looking at a growrth path from this restructure.

Arena of Exploits/FOTM/Hidden stats, its will be anything but skill. What skill in BDO when they refuse to deal with  foundation game breaking problems. Also gl  with "team work" in BDO.

Hope they make another  stand alone game from it  for all you "skilled" players who love PVP, just to see that its have 12 players in last 24h.

it's a skilled base situation for sure. We would all be playing with the same broken code. Game isn’t broken for some and not for other. Just some will use it as an excuse like we are playing different games.

As for FOTM and stuff, well I’m okay with this, played a FOTM one time got lots of kills seen how easy it is. so I know it happened and could not care less when I get smashed on my weaker pvp class. Love the challenge, more rewarding when I do win. Lets hope there is always imbalance and FOTM.

I would say BDO code is its own issue.

Skill base ? So exploit mouse movement is skill base ? Change 3rd party programm settings to unlock FPS to gain advantages is skill base ? Runescape "mode" is skill base ? Macro using ( straight up permaban by TOS) is skill base ? (and please don't start saying no one use them, those autochads with exactly same timed movements gonna laugh at you).

Are you saying that 100% of player base is exploiters ? Because i don't, i dont turn my game to look like sht to gain more speed via FPS, i don't spam mouse move every second to cause "desync"

People like you who straight up justify exploits like its nothing wrong is what is wrong this this "community". People who use exploits must be pemabanned according to game TOS, not saying "we same play broken code". The "top" of arena will be boldest cheaters, because you know almost no bans since we move from Kakao.

Certainly fps exploit will be mandotary there, but you don't need to exploit much to get to the top. Like the game is basically dead at night hours, you can just join in with friends/alt accounts and boost yourself to the top. Ppl do wintrade in other games since forever, and if it will worth it to be at top in AoS ppl will going to wintrade.

Tho there probably won't be anything worthing the effort anyway so....

if people play in the dead of night, that's them... still gonna know who it cheating the system, still gonna know who is winning from skill in real fights, as people create content...

Who manages to 'steal' what from a game mode, not a worry to me... just cheating them selves :)

 If rewards are good, we'll get second Shadow Arena -  RMT for rewards(main reason its was removed from game, imo). If rewards  like RBF (you do it for fun) its will have same amount of players ~80players at prime time. Being ranked will kill it even faster, simple because ppl burn out being matched with leechers and losing points (because PA love leechers). Win trading, well, normaly GM's deal with it, but GM's and EU/NA...yeiks

PA might try to keep it alive by performing tournaments and etc,they pretend there is no problems while Tuvala cup, nothing say they won't  keep pretending with arena.

My point is very simple, how come ranked Arena can be good, if PA simple ignore major bugs that dramastically effect game. Lets say you  new/casual player, arena looks very good to you, because its "equalized", so easy to join, and here you are fresh meat jump into arena and got face rolled by exploiters.
