The other issues I have come across with shai and organizing. There are upset shai but they don’t want to rock the boat, epically when PA has paid them a little attention. They are worried but they are also easily swayed.

Example is the recent music event, I know some of them bands, I have done work for some of them and helped them get people to some of their event (and video)... They now make excuses for PA so they don’t have to admit there is an issues, because music is there thing and that’s going okay for them rights now (wow dudes PA gave you one small event, and what did I do for you as an unpaid employ) and from that event, did anyone stick around and become your friend, or did that happen when I helped?

You understand musician, you are the assets, you created the entertainment, PA comes along and feed off you with their event… they needed you not the other way around – GET THAT STRIGHT IN YOUR HEAD – they are taking advantage of your understanding of the world, because they are wise at this and you are not. I’m trying to explain as much as I can to you (im old and wise too :P just a very bad speller and typer).

This is why, when I was there with you I said I would not take control, I would not say what you should do, when or how, I would not step on anyone’s toes, but I would offer you my help, you could tell me what you needed and I would see if I could do it for you, not the other way around (I didn’t demand you come to an event / time / location where I could film you for my benefit)… I wanted you to be your own thing, fully in control of your own management and ability to show off your skills without the need of a 3^rd party (me or pa)

I explained to these musicians; You may be all happy playing your instruments right now but what happens when you wanna grind, or wanna get gear?

You see, I point this out because some of them where upset when they had no cash to get the new instruments. Some have been dishearten when they wanted to pvp a little, they kinda liked it, but could not afford some simple upgraded. They know I’m right, just they expect someone else to do all the work.

oh a little bit more on that tag #ShaiWar... is nothing atm, it could remain nothing or, just one brakethough (just one) and we have a cascade. From the videos to post to orgonisation via a simple tag... im sure PA know this too :P (PA may try to steal the tag, go for it)

One of the important factors in all this is get our concerns over to the other communities, Korea and such. This isn’t easy as I cant translate, and watching their videos/streams to find out their position is really hard work (from what i can tell, thier torni winner was not happy with the changes, he seems to have gone quite atm, shame cus i think he know english too - seemed like it).

Marni's new instruments are stupidly expensive LOL I thought it was going to be like florchestra but no, it was hundreds of millions per instrument. Absolutely stupid. Yeah, until there's another phase or two of inflation, it's not happening. PA lost their marbles thinking that price was acceptable, or even hiding it behind silver!

I understand about the simping thing because the moment you start complaining about something that really bothers you because it's feedback and they should care but don't, they you wonder if that disqualifies you from any public event, competition etc... Like what if my name came up in a drawing and I won but didn't since I complained about a thing or two? Some people might not want to take that risk. But if PA could just understand that they are not complaints out of hate but complaints out of caring about the game to wanting it to be better, maybe they could listen?

I remember someone said to me that if they do it a different way it would go against the creative vision of PA for the game. BUT, you don't create a business and tailor it for your own needs. You tailor your business for the needs of your customers / prospect customers. Games are no different. A director does not direct a game based on what they want. They direct a game based on what they think/know people will want.

Snoods, you made a "what people want in a UI QoL" post the other day. That was spot-on. There's this thread, again, spot on. Then there's the petition to de-censor shai. There were how many threads made of this with dozens of pages, hundreds of posts? People make their voices heard and sometimes, SOMETIMES they listen or maybe it's a coincidence and what they did just so happened to be what we wanted. Why is Final Fantasy 14 so successful? It's because the director, Yoshi P. spends a lot of time listening to feedback and seeing how he can incorporate these ideas into the game while maintaining balance. He interacts with the fans and the other developers do as well. This is what makes that game so amazing. If BDO could be more involved with the community, and I don't mean GM activity, but involved with the development we would be playing a different, more exciting game. I get we don't always have the best of opinions but there are some things that PA does that defies logic and reason, shai nerf to this degree defies logic and reason and it will push people away from the game even if they fix it 2 weeks later.

This is median Orcs (I believe?) its a perfect microcosm of Shai pre-gyfins. Under the old  generic MOVE KILL MOVE design of grind spots, Shai was trash, even after the December 22 changes. That was never an issue for PA. There were 0 efforts to bring us up to par. We got Skateboard yes, and it is awesome.. but that is mostly just an advertising gimmick like most of our class. It has its uses, but the ramp up/ramp down time does not allow it to be useful in most grinding situations. Thus how the above image is still possible.

Orcs was the top spot for most of the game while I played pre-gyfins, and PA never looked our way and thought about balance. The chosen classes were making a bil an hour in a time of much lower inflation.. and Shai was fine at the bottom. This was Orcs in its prime, too. There was no shortage of people available willing to evict a Shai and short of summoning a guild we had basically no defense. PA thought this was fine.

But we finally reach a spot of game design where the low mobility classes can compete,  and suddenly PA is VERY CONCERNED about Shai balance. Balance is not just smacking us down when we become good, it is elevating us where we are weak as well. And Shai is weak in damn near every other aspect of the game save cooking, processing and oluns. These changes are not balance, they cannot be balance unless Shai's crippling shortcomings are addressed as well.

The older content is not gone, or obsolete. Every aspiring Shai will have to progress though that content as one of the worst classes in the game. I still need to go back and grind serendia elvia for 2 earring cups.. as a terrible class.. a terrible class that will be even 20% worse after this patch because Shai commited the terrible sin of having their toolkit finally shine somewhere. I use seasonal characters to grind my potion piece weeklies because seasonal tuvala geared characters can do the grind nearly as fast as my geared shai, and at least they can use the SP.

The chilling effect on content creators is real and justified , it’s logical that PA do not direct traffic to sights/channels critical of PA. 

I have had PA listed my content once.. Let’s be fair, some of you have seen my work, it’s okay yeah? Strange I’m not included more often in some form. Some will claim this is copium, but will never have looked at my work.

Them that do look? … I will be told, ‘What do you expect?', like I’m supposed to change or be shocked... nah, this is what I expect, I was shocked when I was featured by PA for the PVP stuff (maybe they thought that would make me chill, bring me into the fold? Maybe the person who listed me only knew of that video and not me) it won’t happen again, I didn’t back off and simp.

Creators;

I can’t expect other creator to take a stand with their work or channel, The effect are real because it would be silly for PA not to avoid directing traffic to them, unless you really do believe PA, as a business, is so stupid they would advertise their own negative press?

So I understand your position, respect mine and don’t use me as some punching bag on your stream to gain points with PA… you start calling out my name, then I’m aloud to call on you (fair?). Let me do my thing, you do yours, and none of do PA’s work for them :)

Good. Shai should be nerfed. Shouldn't have been a class implemented into NA in the first place. It should be the absolute worst if people actually want to play it.

I appreciated Haxxing's honesty.

It gets tiring reading so many people trying to rationalize Shai being garbage as a good thing for balance. Just work up the courage and say what you really think.
