Reading the developer's ideas on how to combat toxic guild wars against weaker guilds has me deeply concerned for the future state of the game, specifically open-world interactions and PvP. The developer's proposal is highly vulnerable to abuse and has the potential to destroy many players' experiences in Black Desert and ultimately leading the game to its demise.

With careful thinking and understanding of the current systems and interactions in Black Desert, I have created a list of changes and additions that aim to improve the existing systems and experiences in Black Desert. The primary goals of these changes are to combat griefing, protecting non-PvP focused players and encouraging fair PvP amongst PvP focused players.

Instant Resurrection

• Elion's Blessing, Elion's Tear and Fairy's Tear usage for Instant Resurrection limited to 3 consecutive times

   - Upon reaching the usage limit, only Node and Town resurrection is available.
   - Resurrecting at a Node or Town will reset the usage limit.

   - Usage limit only applies to force player versus player deaths; does not apply to guild war deaths.
• Characters with negative Karma cannot use Instant Resurrection
   - Elion's Blessing, Elion's Tear and Fairy's Tear can be used to restore lost XP when resurrecting at a Node or Town.

Additional Notes: Hystria Ruins, Aakman Temple, Kratuga Ancient Ruins and Sycraia Underwater Ruins (Lower) Node resurrection becomes available to prevent abuse of the 3 usage limit (i.e force killing another player 3 times to kick them out).

Positive Karma Player Death Penalties

• Orange grade crystals are not lost upon death to monsters

• Orange grade crystals have durability that is lost upon death to monsters

   - Orange grade crystals lose 20% of their maximum durability per death.

   - Crystal effects and set-effects are nullified at 0 durability.
   - Crystal durability can be restored using silver at any weapon/armour vendor NPC in any town or city; stable keepers are excluded.

• White, Green, Blue and Yellow grade crystals remain unchanged

   - Ensures that the value of these crystals are maintained and not overstocked on the Central Market.

Negative Karma Player Death Penalties

• Orange grade crystals are not lost upon death to monsters

• Orange grade have durability that is lost upon death to monsters

   - Orange grade crystals lose 50% of their maximum durability per death.

   - Crystal effects and set-effects are nullified at 0 durability.
   - Crystal durability can be restored using silver at Muiquun weapon/armour vendor NPC.

• White, Green, Blue and Yellow grade crystals remain unchanged

   - Ensures that the value of these crystals are maintained and not overstocked on the Central Market.

• Lightstones are not lost upon death to monsters or players
   - Lightstone effects and set-effects are nullified while Karma is negative.
• Combat and Skill XP cannot be gained from any sources

   - Includes quests, defeating monsters, Red Battlefield, etc.

Karma System

• Karma is deducted using the highest possible equipment score from equipped and unequipped items in the inventory
   - This is applied to both the aggressor and retaliator.
   - Prevents abuse of the Karma system with malicious intent (i.e karma-bombing; dying intentionally with little or no equipment equipped to reduce another player's Karma quickly).

Guild War System

• Outgoing war declaration start timer reduced from 15 minutes to 5 minutes
• Guilds that do not occupy a Node or Territory may freely declare on any other guild regardless of currently maintained war declarations

   - "Not ready for war" status is abused by players with malicious intent (i.e karma-bombing).
• Outgoing mutual war declarations are not included in the war declaration limit
   - Outgoing non-mutual war declarations are limited to 6.

   - Allows PvP focused guilds to maintain multiple war declarations (permanent or temporary) during large-scale mutual guild wars.

(New) Guild War Tier System

• The Guild War Tier system represents the guild's strength by evaulating data from ongoing guild wars and currently occupied Nodes or Territories

  - Occupied Nodes and Terrioties, Kills and deaths accumulated in the past week are used to evaluate a guild's strength on a weekly basis.

  - Kills have a higher weighting than deaths in the evaluation process.

  - A guild that occupies a Node or Territory cannot drop below a certain tier as a safeguard against potential abuse.

  - A guild can rise or drop in tier based on their recent guild war activity.

• The Guild War Tier system aims to protect non-PvP focused guilds from PvP focused guilds (e.g Life Skill vs Node War guild) and weaker guilds from stronger guilds

   - The cost to initiate a war declaration against a lower tier guild will be significantly higher.

   - The cost to initiate a war declaration against a higher or equal tier guild will remain unchanged.

   - A daily war maintenance fee must be paid when maintaing a war declaration against a lower tier guild.

   - No daily war maintenance fees apply when maintaining a war declaration against a higher or equal tier guild.

   - War declarations against a lower tier guild will automatically be removed after X days.

   - A grace period of X days is applied so that the higher tier guild cannot declare war against that guild.

   - A guild at the highest tier cannot initiate a war declaration against a guild at the lowest tier (e.g Tier 1 vs Tier 10).

   - A guild at the lowest tier cannot particiapte in Node/Conquest Wars (e.g Tier 10).

• The Guild War Tier system also aims to encourage fair PvP by rewarding guilds and their members for maintaining the highest tier

   - Guild members of a guild that maintains a high tier will earn additional daily guild pay

   - Guild members of a guild that maintains a high tier will earn additional silver from winning or losing in Red Battlefield.

   - Guild members of a guild that maintains a high tier will earn additional Resplendent Medal of Honor.

   - The higher the tier, the better the rewards.

   - The highest tier has limited positions that only a handful of guilds can hold.

   - At the highest tier, guilds will earn a special reward pacakge at the end of the week.

I like the gem idea Although we need a solution for the existing gems in the game where they still have value in them.

I myself have over 60b in gems in my storage and would hate to see them worthless due to a patch like this, so if they did this I'd ask them for a way to use these gems such as a new deves journal where he requests gems that way ppl like me who was using the gems to turn a profit wouldn't get screwed over by this.

I like the x3 tear idea too that helps ppl not grief..

I like the karma system idea too helps ppl not kbomb...

Over all good list and good ideas <3

this is literally nothing but a you problem and shouldnt ever be relevant to the matter of hand. dont hoard crystals and you dont face this problem.

Do you actually want to fix BDO? Bring the old system back.

The Golden Era (2016-2017) in NA servers was much more competitive, raw and fun. The nature of BDO was an open world pvp game, we loved toxicity and griefers because they were the fuel for GvGs and rivalries.

Since 2018 we are watching this game doing down a bad road because of PC culture.

It will end up just like a regular MMO with quests and dungeons before we reach level 100.

I don't mind the gear score calculation idea.  All else are not needed.   No one is griefing anyone by rezzing.  Sorry.  The developers agree with me.  In fact, the developers are testing punishing mob feeding and making it harder for NW guilds to decc on lower level guilds.  They clearly don't like the toxic behavior of some high geared players who think they have a right to push people out of areas.

Karmabombing doesn't exist.  It's a fabricated concept among people who want to kill others with impunity.  Since no one can force anyone to flag, it's Karmacide (my guild name).  Case closed

People still don't realize the life skillers and weaker guilds are the real griefers.

Just read the server/world/grou chatrooms to see the reality.

The Karma system actually protects them because they will be free to remove their gear on purpose to downgrade a player and keep griefing to make a player leave the spot instead competing for a spot. That player won't be able to do anything against the griefer and the irony is griefers usually act like a victim and report players who flags them.

The best way to solve this issue is removing the Karma System. They will stop griefing, harassing, slandering immediately because they know they will lose the fight, so they will think twice.

But at the same time, you remove the existence of a controlled owpvp and end up with only Arsha-like servers. That's not necessarily better and that's not the initial idea of BDO.

Devs need to tweak rules and make the whole system more interesting, interactive.

About the new rules on JP servers, players should realize that they would not gain any magic button to remove other players mob feeding them. They made it clear that these are guidelines but they'll check every situation.

And some players will have a hard time explaining the situation and proving it, as it will be totally fabricated. XD

Lifeskillers are stealing your logs?  Lol.  The karma system is in place to prevent REAL griefing, not the imaginary griefing you dream up because you want to push people out of areas.  No one is griefing you.  You are griefing yourself by flagging.  Use some self control
