A few reasons why new group content often dies fast in BDO

1) Partying up is a rare exception and not the norm. From what i remember, loot is distributed evenly among the party with no compensation for extra party members in most zones. This is probably the biggest barrier for the party system. Anyone with a brain will instantly judge that it is unfeasable to party in almost every zone except the few that are designated as party zones. BDO players are subconciously conditioned to think group content is automatically worthless, and so it takes a lot to actually get people together to do group content.

2) Party system isn't very approachable. I don't recall a single party tutorial in the game, and nothing mentioning it's mechanics. And for some reason party finder is hidden from the UI in all servers except season servers. Party find needs to be easily accessable and visible always. For people to use the party finder they need to know it exists.  I suggest attaching a party finder button under, or beside the minimap. And not just a button with a symbol but instead a text button saying PARTY FINDER. Yes it's redundant, but take a look inside the party finder at almost any time of day. It's like a wasteland. It makes the game look dead and it impacts morale.

The party finder window itself also needs some additional features. Put in extra tabs, one for information about party system and mechanics, and one for options regarding the party system. Add options for auto party inviting(form and add members you come across), auto party finding (put the auto accept party request option here), auto quit conditions(options that quit a party if desired loot destribution options does not match the current party's settings), and auto party find conditions.

3) Putting barriers for entry in group content. Creating long quest chains just to be able to use the feature makes it insa-DOA. Look at season rifts, why are they so successful.

4) Partying is just as boring as solo grind. PSO:NG is a game with flaws, but one thing it does well is the party system. Parties in PSO:NG don't just go around in circles killing stuff, it has something called PSE Burst. To get the basic idea of what that's like see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1MF-BNWQ1bU and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QcToJMrfi7g

Right now BDO already has some of the groundwork needed to implement something like this. BDO has randomly triggerable quests and randomly triggerable invasions. Put those two together creating triggerable party exclusive quests and objectives that ultimately lead to invasions with more trashloot and better drops. There are other fun random events triggered by parties in PSO:NG that you can rip off. I don't care how shameless it is but if you want party mechanics to actually be fun, rip them off. Rip them off just like FFXIV ripped of a ton of stuff from WoW. But also like XIV, rip them off and make it better.

Do you see something about the party somewhere in mmorpg acronym? No? Interesting why? Maybe because you don't have to have a party to play them. You want party? Play coop s. games.

6. Party content in BDO is too hard and requires items that 99% of players don't own, and they don't have them due to the sick enchantment system and zero drop.

Eg. Atoraxxion. No one will do it if there is no chance that a group of random people without communication will do it. Also only the elvia level pays off, i.e. ... see above ... not feasible for 99% of players.

Period, end of story.

This. BDO is an MMO in the sense that a ton of players are running around in the game, and on some basis, you interact with them, but almost everything about the game is done solo - which is how I like it, personally, and it's how quite a few players like it, or they'd be playing a different MMO that focused on player interaction instead.

i group up in lost ark and it sux dealing with filthy casuals and  dads "I don't have time to watch a 5-10m guide I have 2 kids!" and then proceed to wipe for 2 hours without progress. In bdo you log in, do shit you want to and log off, sadly many events be like play for 2hours to get X goodie, I hate that.

MMORPG = Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game

It doesn't mean that you play together or against each other, it just means that you're online with other players. FF14 may be seen as a MMORPG but at the end of the day, it's mainly a single player experience where very few instances you are required to be in a party with other players. In fact, by the next expansion, you won't be required to be a part of a party anymore since they will have fully converted the game into a single player game with the option to play with other players if you like which seems to be what people want in an MMO anyway.

BDO is not a party game, it's a single player game unless you spend all your days in RBF or something. BDO discourages you to play as a party because it penalizes you for doing so in most instances. There is little incentive to play with other players so you end up having to play by yourself unless you don't mind the harsh penalties.

I'm not sure if there really are any true full-party required MMOs out there and I don't mean end-game raids but the general content of the game. MMORPGs have always been a single player (mostly) experience since it's troublesome to try and synchronize your time with other players around the world to do anything. People are either working or going to school unless they're a hobo so it's a good thing they are single-player focused, otherwise few people would even consider playing.

I care about about group stuff. Should make more Solo Zones DUO optional. So what if BM or ORCs drop loot for two. Yeah u will make more in parties but that doesnt mater. Should be able to share the trash together. But i will say this i see you everywhere in the fourms. Must say to me your a regular here i enjoy reading what you have to say next cat person. Bit of advice please co sign my next post we can beat this game together.
