Lifeskills stink compared to grinding

I can grind with terrible gear and still make more money than i can with guru gathering and hunting.  For those of us who love lifeskills, this kills our appetite to continue on. PA get your shit together or it's time to find another game.

Well after this new grindzone buff it's very easy to see that prices on true endgame gear has increased insanely. Pen Tungrad rings used to be around 65bill, and now they're listed for 95bill just a month later.

If you buy imperials off market and turn them in you make around 100mill, considering you can easily grind 500mill/hour this is almost not even worth doing. If you buffed imperials it would make gathering and hunting more viable if you cook your own meals. But as of right now that's very subpar especially considering you have 2k mastery and lifeskill gear worth 200bill and you make less or equal money to someone grinding manshaums.

Iam actually considering just selling all my lifeskill gear at this point.

BDO's silver grind comes in two forms: "PVE" and/or LS. Not sure how one could possibly love either one but pound for pound PVE has and likely always will earn more for the majority of the playerbase. Odds of this changing anytime soon is very unlikely.

Grinding has always made more money than lifeskilling. What's the issue now is that you can make as much and more with tuvala gear as someone that has 2000 mastery gathering. It makes lifeskilling obsolete in balancing.

TThis is with 2000 mastery gathering. You need pen clothes tool, tet manos accs. And you run out of energy if you tryhard for these numbers and then you can't gather.

Meanwhile you can make 450m/h at manshaums with tuvala gear and grind as much as you like, no downtime on energy.

How is that balanced, who's going to wanna invest into lifeskill gear and reach guru gathering which takes months and invest all that money into lifeskill gear and then not even be able to grind continously since you run out of energy after a while? If you can just finish seasons and then grind manshaums and later reach even better spots where you make close to a billion per hour grinding, twice as much as capped tryhard gathering that you also run out of energy with.

How is lifeskilling even worth it. Buffing imperials slightly wouldn't exactly be much to ask for.

Let's say  you are a new player, and you invest the equivalent of full pen tuvala gear into lifeskill gear instead. Which is "softcap" for gathering gear or the equivalent of tet boss gear with tri gold accs or full pen tuvala. Around 15bill.

You also need to reach Master1-5 gathering, that takes a while. Anyway this is what you have looking forward too after all that effort as a new player with 1300 mastery gathering.

What new player will go trough the effort when they can just grind for 450m/h with their tuvala gear. Why would they waste time buying lifeskilling gear to make half of what they're making and end up ultimately once they finally reach 2000 mastery with gear worth close to 200billion, making as much as they did after season grinding manshaums.

It's completely busted and lifeskills are left behind with this new update.

Perhaps you should consider that all these numbers about grinding are often overrated and are more a Max with agris, good stuff and expertise than day to day reality of average player... Most of the Time i take out at least 25% from what i read on forums... Anyway you are right, lifeskill need a boost 😉

The same is true for gathering if you look at the numbers i posted pictures of, if you're just casually gathering you're not going to reach that amount. You need to be 100% focused and go as fast as possible. Most times when i gather i'm not making anywhere close to that.

However, i do think grinding places like gyfins etc takes more effort, although it's not as boring and tedious as gathering, but i've never had a problem with grinding making more money, i think that's the way it should be. You shouldn't be able to compete or even come close to top endgame grinding with gathering.

But i think it's right now abit too low to be competitive, it should be buffed a little bit, hopefully by raising price on imperials slightly, geting 100mill after turning in meals is nothing today, alot of people don't even bother doing it. But you don't have too overdo it obviously. They increased prices on trash loot, so giving imperials a few 20 or 30mill extra per day shouldn't be too much.

Well you are right, they did a few things recently but it's not enough and they could also add some trash loot not related to MarketPlace or even Mastery that would higher income at low/middle level. Or higher some prices on actually useless things - thinking about all these useless furs when hunting f.i. 😉
