Horoscopes may be very overlooked in the character creation and gameplay, but I still remember when there were rumors that they might play a bigger role increasing luck for certain signs on certain days or such. In any case, I as many other OCD players out there am still waiting on implementation of some sort of item or dynamic that will allow me to change a character's sign. I mean there is even a way to change their names, why not their Horoscope signs?
No, we ain't not need more stupid mechanisms that only annois the players for no reason.

Agreed. And i'd much rather have a main character than dividing my attention to 20 different classes. I really hate that about this game. Let me just be one character as long as that character doesn't get nerfed to death (damn it PA I was enjoying shai!). T___T
Horoscopes had a purpose but they don't anymore. I'm so glad they don't. But you may be right, there might be more luck on a character based on what they choose at character creation (providing RNG seed with info). There's too much RNG as it is, less is more IMO
Horoscopes mainly function with the Amity minigame. Matching star signs with the NPC you are conversing with gives bonuses to the rates and gains of the minigame and certain times of day also give bonuses to each sign.
Outside of the minigame, the only use I've seen them play is answering the riddle in Tulid's cave in the Kama questline. The correct number to type in General Chat for the riddle is the number of stars in your character's horoscope sign. 4 for a Key sign, 7 for a Black Dragon, 8 for Giant, etc.
I don't see it as more or new mechanisms. Horoscopes have been there from the start, and even if they don't have a big influence on gameplay, I still like that they have a slight use and mention in the game when people are interested in engaging with that detail of the gameworld, I'm still looking for the knowledge for all of them.
In any case, I enjoy matching up the horoscopes to the concept I have of each of my characters. Just saying I would like a way to change their horoscopes after creation. I gave a few horoscopes to some characters although playing with them felt that a diffrent personality fitted them better and now they are stuck with what I picked at character creation. We can even change character names, why can't we switch horoscopes?
Actually your horoscope does play a role in at least one quest puzzle in Kama, where you are asked how many stars are in your star sign. Also when talking to merchants of the same sign, you get along better with them.
I played a D&D game online prior to my arrival here. In character creation they did a lot of extra fluff, which held no meaning to game mechanics. I had to pick a diety to worship, a home town, and a background. None of it mattered to the game and they never used it for even a simple puzzle quest.
Sometimes less information about your character is better. In my opinion, I am very happy they talk about us being a generic "adventurer". This allows me to say my characters are good or evil. Where the former mentioned D&D game called us Hero. No bad guys allowed. Assuming you follow all the lore of this game, all the Nova class are the King's daughter and all the Sages are the same ancient time traveler. That doesn't leave you much wiggle room when developing a unique character.
Personally my sorceress back story is about her being a former cultist (they tossed her out) and a conartist. She found my wizard wandering about Veila with no memory and told him she is his sister. Then she proceeded to drain his accounts for him. That is my story and I am sticking to it.
Have fun!
I think that even if nothing changes regarding the horoscopes, it's still appreciated to be able to change them. I don't think it is a very difficult thing to implement.

Agree. Just enable it as part of the appearance change, then my Nova can have shield instead of goblin as I wasnt paying attention at the time of character creation. Its stupid I know, but just bugs me I didnt set it to shield.
