Bolt into Rift Chain is genuinely terrible. It puts you into pre-awk unintentionally and messes up movement combos. It is more of an inconvenience than anything. The solution right now is to lock Rift Chain which is essentially deleting the small amount of movement Sage had.
I can not stress this enough that this change makes Sage less fun to play.
On top of that, locking rift chain prevents preawakening skills to be pocketed.
It wasn't a good move and didn't help awakened Sage, unless for eating his stamina even faster than before. Ginving Iframes back to bolt was the good thing to do to help with his survivability.
This bolt > rift chain flow plus the Impaling flash changes, even if we can now appear behind the enemy, really feels like nerfs, not improvements. Returning to the inital position with impaling flash fills strictly no purpose, it's a mobility skill, and what's the point of a mobility skill if you don't actually move ?... Baiting the enemy ? Doesn't really work with such animation. Plus, the range was nerfed on top of a useless counterproductive addition.
Speaking of stamina, why does both sage kit burn through it so fast? AWK is obviously designed to be a mobile and fast moving class yet it's crippled by stamina usage (sage's burst movement will completely drain stam in 1/4th the distance other classes can move). It isn't particularly strong in pvp or pve and stamina problems on top of that destroys any pve potential the class will ever have. Heck, I think I remember quitting BDO a year ago because of stamina and nerfs that affected PvE. To this day Sage is a terrible class and yet it keeps getting balanced with a "one step forward, one step back" approach as if it's the strongest class in the game.

BDO's class design doesn't make any sense. Just look at Zerkers movement, It costs 0 stamina but somehow it's okay for him to have the ability to reset fights until he wins, he can do this as many times as he wants.
Please PA, make the flow you recently added into an actual skill so I don't have to lock Rift Chain itself if I want to disable it.

I intend on using Rift Chain however I am forced to lock it because there isn't a way to lock the flow feature they added to Bolt which lets you cast Rift Chain right after casting Bolt. This wouldn't be an issue if it wasn't for the 2 skills sharing the same key inputs, making you accidentally cast Rift Chain when you don't intend to.
Making a flow like in the picture I created would allow you to lock that specific function while maintaining the usage of Rift Chain.
