lol sounds fun. I was seeing how many people in korea smoke and aparently it's a lot so it's not out of the question in terms of taboo, but maybe it could be taboo when used in games. Kinda like how tobacco isn't allowed to be advertised on TV in the US and requires a stronger rating for movies and games if they are used. Can't imagine a game where killing each other with oppai waifu to have issues with tobacco use lol I can soo see it with shai and wizards

Lord of the rings online had smoking, I'm not sure if It's still in the game. You could have different blends and some had unique smoke clouds. As far as I remember it was a RP item.
