Hence why I said,  if the game gave accessibility to upgrade materials like Cron's that could be aquired regularly without having to spend real money it would be more balanced.  Working on my BS now I can't even see any end in site as to how much time I'm going to have to invest based on this fact alone and there is no way I'm going to buy outfits for Cron's.  I know the thousands of Cron's I have right now could be gone within  a few minutes as well.

Pigeon holed into the same areas based on GS with a very long process ahead. I guess I could play the Caphras game at something like 39204 for 20 but the drop rate of those is not exactly anything to get exited about either.

You can just buy cronstones in the pearl shop, IDK your problem really?

Well not necessarily,

The cost basis could be supplemented with alternative methods for obtaining them thus making the system more accessible. Don't forget memory fragments also, they are not exactly cheap on the market.  What are crons around 2 million each so I don't know the exact number but probably close to 3700 for a pen attempt , that's a lot of silver. This is nothing new which is why it's probably better to just buy rather than enhance.

PA makes the wast majority of their revenue by selling cron stones.

Yeah it hurts the game, noone likes paying etc... but if you would make it more accessible, then you would effectively reduce the money PA make by the same amount.

Just think a little. Every time someone clicks on a TET blackstar with "convenience", Pearly Abyss earns up to 180$. That means that on a 240stack on avarage, if you enchance with cash shop "convenience" PA earns 3550$ per PEN Blackstar. (less with discounts)

They already do giveaways and events... like they did gawe away 2 outfit for everyone literately a few days ago, and like 1k or so cronstones. They also do hand out J hammer sometimes, so they are doing steps in making it acessible... but ultimately that is what they are selling to make profit. Surely they will cut their already declining revenoue even more (jk).

Yeah I agree with what your saying, I have noticed they are giving a lot of stuff out lately, I got two outfits recently myself.

Point is that this aspect of the game is the real clog in the system that keeps people down. Otherwise I don't have any issues really, it's a well done game all the way around. I just wonder how much they make from residual on value packs versus cron's, I always have vp buff.  The price for those equals about what it cost to play other games that charge a monthly fee, that should be enough income for them.

That being said, with the amount of time the OP has put into the game , I don't think that he should be facing this kind of frustration. People hit a wall and find other ways to spend their time.

I'm not giving you guys money for a casino. Want more of my money make a product I can buy not gamble for.

And do you know whats worse about that? That people defending this and whiteknighting "Gear is easy to get nowdays, its free. i am f2p btw".. no you are not.

How about we get a Catchup Mechanic for 2022?

And no Season is a not a catchup mechanic for 2022. its a catchup mechanic for 2020....

"Season Servers in Black Desert Online is like buying a New Gaming PC and instead of Windows 98 and a Nvidia GeForce 6600 (125MB) you get a Catchup with Windows XP and a Nvidia GTX 650 (2GB)" 😂 (good catchup would be: Windows 7 and a GTX1060)

Full Maxed Season gear is like 560 Gearscore, barely enaugh to try the entry elvia zone, and not enaugh for Odylitta, and Mountain of Eternal Winter.. (And Odylitta is 2020 content). The whales, veterans and streamers have 700 GS anyways with full pen or tet blackstar.. meanwhile Season get outdated Bossgear from 2016...

Many new players straightup hateing the enhancing system. I always like to mention the example with the new streamer who failed tet tuvala 3 times in a row, then uninstalled and went back to WoW... The Season server is a nice way to learn the game aka a tutorial, explore the world. but its not a Catchup... they should upgrade the "Growth Pass" instead of 18 weeks of Jetina.. Remove the whole Jetina Crafting thing and make a new Stone that 100% enhance an Boss gear from TET to PEN (similar as the Tet-PEN tuvala stone). Then let it be obtainable by the Growth Pass. Reach full pen tuvala, and then finish Odylitta Mainstory -> u get full pen boss witht the stones. Then make some other perks like "obtain 500 energy" or "get 10.000 monster knowledge" or "finish all adventure journals", where you get boosts too. Good catchup for 2022 would be  Ful Pen Boss gear + C8 + double GODR/Blackstar TET  and TET accesouries in (1 Disto, 1 Narc, 2 Cres, 1 Basi, 1 Ogre) ~150 hours playtime. (if u play 5 hour per day aka 1 month) Since the average playtime of BDO players is 167 hours from people who like the game and not quit before... People need to stop assume everyone playing BDO for 3 months or longer.. no most people play 167 hours and then search another game. Make it 150hour playtime ~ 650GS  - new player = (those who need to learn the controlls, and dont know where everything is... and those who grind like 1 hour if they play 10 hours, cause questing, exploring, is a thing too.

https://howlongis.io/app/582660/Black+Desert

No new player wants to bother with 18 weeks of Jetina... As the statistic shows... 168 Hours is the average playtime of people who ENJOY BDO. while 122 Hours is the playtime of all people.. so if they would make BDO more enjoyable players will stick longer then 122 hours... or even 168 hours..

The way Godr SHOULD have worked:

1. It should have had its own enhancement fail stack system.
2. Each time you fail the enhancement success increases drastically. And each tier should have its own recorded stack.

Example:

Base to PRI - Starts out 25% -> 50% -> 75% -> 100

If it goes that counter resets. But the next level starts. So you have a DUO it fails the 25%, goes back to PRI, You hit DUO again now its 50%. You fail next time its 75%. Ok Now you hit TRI, DUO & PRI reset you go for TET same thing 25%.... etc etc.

So at some point you will 100% pitty out. Now do I love it? No. I think enhancing is trash. A much better system would be turn in a TET Blackstar then farm for gems & rare loot then get 100% guaranteed enhances. Ie directly rewarding you for your TIME & EFFORT! But if your going to make a gambling sim then it doesn't need to be fail at 5% forever because we hate our customers. Because you do. Make no mistake you hate us. No other reason this system exist, as it does, other than you hate us. If I said there was a 5% chance you would get a paycheck for working 40-50 hours a week, I wonder how long you would keep working for me? Do you think BDO is just so much fun that we are ok with this? No of course it isnt.

the way the whole enchanting system in 2022 should work. that cronstone is no longer an item. it autoapplies to all enhance aka free unlimited J-hammer.  Downgrading and losing progression is outdated and not usefull in 2022. 2016 this was maybe ok. but in 2022 no. If you have the item tri you have the item tri. there should be no possible way of losing that tri. no matter what. (except you trade/sell it lol)

they make enaugh already of value pack and artisan and reroll coupons :D on EU there barely any costumes in marketplace or get listed... So i doubt they make lot of money with crons atleast not on eu.

I can say right from here that site just pull out numbers from it's ass. Pretty much random numbers without any validity.

Yeah, after reading it, that site pretty much list the players who did steam reviews and calculate time based on when they left the steam review.

But only a very small minority of the players even bother leaving a review. Like according to that site 50k players every try'd the game out, despite according to PA they had over 20million. So while PA certnaly do lie here, that site counts 0.25% of the players who try'd the game, basically nothing.

And it's not hard to imagine, that ppl who uninstall within a hour don't bother going to the steam review and writing review here.

ppl do meme that they sell rerolls, but do they really? Like what would you even buy to reroll? they give away weapon change coupons for free(and you can't buy them for pearls), so all you can get is weight, inventory, horseflute, and combat xp transfer, but most FOTM rerollers do reroll for PvP not for grinding(especially that drak is shit for PvE), and it's not like you would need weigth or inventory for PvP, and levels after 62 insignificant anyways

They do sell artisans, but if you do the math, the cost of weapon repairs is less than the cost of cronstones by a great margin. Like a single PEN BS attempt costs 3670crons and only 4 artisans to repair. Yeah you use more artisans when you build the stack, but ultimately the cost of a PEN BS stack is less than the cron cost of 3 attempts.

Artisans do give you more money than selling outfits on the market tho, but selling outfits on the market is low return rate anyway, especially on the EU, where you can make significantly more profit by using them yourself and selling enchanted items instead.

As for VP, not everyone runs around with constantly having VP... most don't as ultimately you only ned it to sel stuff and you can do it in batches.

Crazy idea, but did you ever consider that players staying in BDO were precisely looking for a MMORPG which could please them for more than 167 hours?

I mean, it is common to binge-play nowadays, even on MMORPGS, but it doesn't mean that every player is looking for that, nor that any game should be forced to comply with this trend.

And you should double-check your reference, as someone mentioned.
