ive played the game as close to free and spending as lil as i can since it launched. i have a t9 peggy and sold a doom. i dont see the griping about having to spend money in the cash shop to get to t9. sure you can and speed it up. you can also just get lucky like i feel like i have. you absolutely do not have to spend money in the cash shop to get there though. ive done it.

Quick update.
Pearl Abyss want f. up even more with us and next update will kill imperial horse so say bye bye to Flower of Oblivion and Imperial Training Delivery Invoice.
Due to this, the wild horses in Black Desert World have been changed from the 1st to 5th tiers to the 6th to 7th tiers.
Dear PA, do you know how long does it take to train a horse with Tier 6 or 7 to lvl 15?
Veeeeery loooooooong. So long that their training is not profitable because T3, T4 and T5 are much better for imperial.

XP has been adjusted in a coming update so that you can train horses faster. You also don't have to train from level 1 either if you get a tier 6 or 7, when you capture it can already be close to fully leveled or maybe you get a dud at level 1. It should not take too long considering. Training was never profitable compared to other things you can do in the game. You are better off fishing than horse training, this is a fact and PA has never addressed this issue. However, the reward for imperial training has I think doubled (or at least increased by a big chunk). It is going to be more profitable than before even though it may take a bit more time per horse to train.
As for OP's point... Mythical horses aren't impossible to get for free players, they can be obtained and i would guess that most players get them for free without pearl items. I have multiple dream horses myself, all which have perfect skills, one which has way above average stats. I'm collecting enough mythical materials to do it back to back and hope it works. Recent updates have made it easier to get Dream and Mythical horses and it's about to be even easier with an upcoming update.

As always, you have no idea what we're talking about here.
1. Profit = time to obtain Flower of Oblivion and PRICE you have to pay for Flower of Oblivion. Imperial pays you 50% market price. T1-T5 are cheap. Even T5 lvl 15 can be sold to imperial for 1-1,5m. But lvl15 T6, T7? You lose 20-30m on each horse.
2. Horses with higher tiers need much more lvl experience. Eg. (not true data) T4 lvl 15 only 600k, but T6 lvl 15 need 3m. Yes T6 give you more Flower of Oblivion but you will faster lvl up few lower tier horses than one higher tier.

Where? Max and rare is lvl 10. And yes T4 lvl 10 will be very fast lvl up to lvl 15 but T6 or T7 even with lvl 10 will be pain to lvl up to lvl 15.
3. No it won't be faster, Mastery in Training is a big scam. Silver clothes + trainer clothes as costume give you more extra % then bonus from mastery.
And as you have seen in the table: only totally unrealistic mastery values (for typical player) give a large %:

Silver +4 = 25% Silver +5 = 40% Plus 15% from costume. Tet manos (same price as silver +5) = only 300 mastery. So silver +5 + costume give you 55%. Try to beat it with a mastery from manos clothes. Especially since the manos accessories are extremely expensive, even at the tet level.

As we all know, T10 horses are practically unattainable, and PA is still happy about it. Sick!
What's the point of adding content to the game that is not used by 99.999% of players? Isn't that a waste of dev team's time?
Unlike the materials needed for T9, which can be obtained "naturally" or simply purchased, the materials for T10 are artificially limited and too difficult to obtain. And I'm not just talking about Mythical Feather, the others are also unavailable.
Flower of Oblivion
Cannot be obtained, cannot be bought. Available only for imperial horse. If someone is not interested in training horses because it is pointless and unprofitable anyway it is not possible to get these flowers. Of course you can try to buy lvl 15 horses but there is no guarantee that anyone will want to sell them since their price is ridiculously low.
Solution: Flower of Oblivion should also be received for selling horses to npc.
Royal Fern Root
Blocked by daily and weekly quests. So another material that cannot be "naturally" obtained or purchased.
Solution: Royal Fern Root should be available from gathering, e.g. from wild herbs.
Mythical Feather
King of kings. No one has, no one will sell. So how to obtain? We can't. There are only two completely dead ways.
1. From fairy T3 and T4. Problem: these fairies don't exist. For over 300 fairies I had 5-6 T3 and one T4.
2. Weekly quest for Powder of Ascension. Problem: Powder of Ascension don't exist. For 500 energy, you may not get even one, and we need 5.
Intelligent solutions to the problem.
1. Fairy. Just add to the game Mythical Feather parts from fairy. Eg. T1 = 3 parts, T2 = 5 parts.
2. Change weekly quest to the daily quest, remove the 1m price of Powder of Ascension , and increase the chance of getting it to the common item level.
What does PA do?
The maximum upper limit of the central market for the Mythical Feather item has been adjusted.
20 million silver coins → 40 million silver coins.
A typical "solution" to a PA-style problem: if something is unattainable and nobody wants to sell it, let's raise the price. But how is this going to make the game have more Mythical Feather for sale? This does not change anything, it only increases the cost of creating a T10 horse.
It looks the same with the lighstones: no one is selling for 500m and no one is selling for 5b, and in addition, most players resigned from buying because the price of 5b is sick.
So do we have more desired lighstones? No.
New weekly quests for Mythical Feather:
Hand over 1 Krogdalo’s Origin Stone
Hand over 600-800 Carrot Confites.
ROTFL. Next quests that no one will do!
One Carrot Confit currently costs 63k. 63 x 650 = 41m. So production price is greater than the maximum price of Mythical Feather. Also Carrot Confit requires Special Carrot (blue) which can only be obtained from gardening and which gardening is dead due to the lack of profits and too high CP price per field.
Krogdalo’s Origin Stone
Epic Fail. First, Krogdalo’s Origin Stone is extremely difficult to get. Of course, nobody wants to sell it. Second, much more important Krogdalo’s Origin Stone is needed for the crafting of many items: Manos Riding Crop, Manos Trainer's Clothes and Krogdalo's Donkey and Horse gear. So there will be no Krogdalo’s Origin Stone, and neither will these items.
Conclusion: changes that PA wants to introduce not only will not make Mythical Feather more accessible (and additionally they will increase the cost of trying to get the T10 horse, which is out of touch with reality), but also block access to special carrots (which is needed to feed horses) and the disappearance of krogdalo class items from the game (market).
The horse system has gotten way out of hand at this point. The breeding system they had completely put to the side for gathering mats and extreme rng.
I used to train horses in this game and enjoyed it but I stopped when this legendary horse stuff was released. Talk about the most pay2win thing in the game making t8 courses legit? Doubt anyone even does anymore tbh.
My personal horse is still a t8 and is 1 skill away from being a course but using horse skill rerolls from events and such it still hasn't gotten the skill. I'm not gonna give them money either to make it happen. I will just wait it out till I get more free ones.

They should make Mount Skill Change coupons obtainable through in-game means. Imperial Trade In exchanges, craft them in workshop, or something like that. I wouldn't even be opposed to limiting crafting / exchanging for them to be restricted to Artisan+ horse trainers since it gives a more meaning behind leveling up training. Pure P2W horse skill rerolls is outdated.

I've said many times why this game is "bad", it is because of this that some items are placed behind a p2w wall without a free (meaningful) alternative in the game.
Without option to buy pearls directly for silver from another player and at the sick price of pearls due to the lack of regional prices in Europe horse training does not make sense for "free" player.
Back to the topic: in EU horse market is empty from friday (global lab info about training horses change). Only dreams left.
Also people buy an unlimited amount of materials for dream horses (always max market prices).
