My review of this, while I found Toshi's quiz very cute (I even tried some of the wrong answers) the device is only 8 songs.  This can't replace muting the music and popping a CD into the tray.  It would also appear (only guessing) this is midi music as it is all instrumental, so why not have this device access the user play album?  Once more the device can't compete with the broad selection of user made music.  While I did pick this up, I most likely will not use it.  Most CDs have 10 to 12 songs. If I want to listen to music from within the game, I can pull up the User Music Album and press a listen button and drag the window off to the edge of the screen.

Nice of Pearl Abyss to try this item out, unless they can link it to play from the user music, it feels to be unfinished.

Have fun!

I think the marniwave is a good idea. Since they focus more on the quality of the ambients and soundtracks (you clearly heared that with the eternal winter update) the game feels a lot more lively.

There are already like 20 tracks so far and I'm looking forward for more. Though the interface could still improve because only the "genre" or folder is displayed so far, not the actual title of the track playing. But each folder already has like 2-3 titles.

Personaly I like the "Rock in Abyss" genre so far. One title reminds me a bit of the 80's martial art movies or some fighting anime intro. I think it was the title "Balenos Street Fight" but I'm not sure. Still I can picture 2 strikers fighting in the streets of velia to this. :D
Would like to see more epic tracks for boss fights too for example!

I'm still using my own mp3-playlist for grinding etc. but its already a nice addition and seems promising if they continue with it.

Also who still uses CD's in 2022? Its not Midi either or at least a very advanced version and luckily no vocal since it wouldn't fit into the game. What language should they use? Korean? English? No thanks... the game has no real vocal so far and thats good.

It's like a bandaid to a large gaping wound which is BDO's ost lol.  Idk what PA is thinking but now the ingame music is so jumbled up it's best to mute it.

Since you asked, people who actually go to the store and buy their music and don't bootleg from the internet, own CD's.  I have been collecting them for a very long time.

I am glad you enjoy it, but I don't see the Marniwave being the greatest... unless you are Wacky Toshi.

Have fun!

Funny you say that, CDs are indeed still very popular. Even vinyl is still a hot commodity since they sound the best out of all formats. I don't think that guy really knows anything about the music industry. Sales are still recorded with how many singles are sold and believe me, kpop and jpop is all about singles and we're not just talking about itunes either, these are often CDs and as far as kpop goes, it's almost all CDs because they are collectible merchandise and owning that is a status symbol of your support for your favorite idols. Sometimes youtube stream views are counted but they are easily faked so it's largely ignored.

Sorry, had to help defend you, CDs are still big, just not mainstream in the US because piracy and watching it on youtube is considered the norm.

Well as of today, I sort of regret doing this quest now.

How do you deactivate it?  Seriously every day now, I must tell it for all my characters not to play smooth jazz when I jump on my pony.  The player has a mute, but it will not stay muted, the player has a mount activation switch, but returns to the on position every time you play the game.  Now it is quickly becoming annoying.

Does Pearl Abyss tests this stuff on monkeys before they test it on us?

I love the feature but, like everyone before me has said, its UI is intrusive. Its position on the screen and volume slider and the "Auto-play on mount" toggle resets every time you launch the game. Not to mention it does not work at all unless you have in-game music volume on which defeats the whole point of marniwave having its own volume slider.

You have to uncheck "auto play while mounted" and it'll go away. Unfortuantely as I have noticed, this saves fine until you logout completely from the game. You can swap characters and it'll remember but the moment you close out of the game, it'll come back. Pretty sure this is just a bug and they'll fix it. Understandibly people should avoid doing this quest until they fix it.
