How would you feel about Faction-Based, World-Wide PvP?

Aion 2.7 until Aion 4.0.

The only game i've played where completely strangers was happy to see me moving around in the open world, because my character was jacked and i was the second best in my class.

10 different people used to form alliances but nobody would apply to them, the moment i started my own, people would non stop spam invitations.

The game where the other faction was scared the sh1t out of you, the moment they road your name and who they had to deal with.

Forming a group of 3 including 1 buffer, 1 healer and start 3 versus 15 battles in the open world.

Only Sorcerrer could O.S.O.K, in BDO every whale can O.S.O.K.

BDO will never reach the skill ceiling of Aion and it will never reach the state of open world PvP Aion had back in 2.7 / 4.0.

Cool idea. Based on what guilds hold the castles players that are not part of those guilds can within thier guilds decide what faction to join for the time being until the next castle siege and who owns it changes.

However I would add the following. If you choose a faction the war with the other is opt in when entering the land area. You will use the same gear you have set for the 3v3 solar. Aka equal gear.

How would equal gear work in open world?  I appreciate the suggestion, but please note I did mention this in my OP:

"This faction-based PVP aims to give back some of this lost meaning behind gearing up and being skilled in PVP.  There seems to be less and less of an incentive to gear up, considering the plethora of capped PvP node wars and sieges, Valencia, Kama, Drieghan making lots of silver with minimal ger req., and so many avenues to simply avoid PvP altogether, it seems this particular aspect of BDO (working hard to get strong for PvP) is dwindling.  Persistent Faction-Based, World-wide PvP could bring some of that back.  It aims to give back some of that lost "pride" that goes along with gearing up and being skilled in PVP"

How would equal gear work in open world?  The opt-in would be guilds deciding what node to go for.  Only owners of nodes / castle in Calpehon and Valencia would be opted in, so if a guild doesn't want to join in the faction-war, then they are able to get nodes in other areas, like T1 nodes.  T1, BTW, is capped gear.

The point of faction-war is to bring back the glory of gearing up, getting skilled, and seeing the fruits of all your hard work pay off.  Equalized gear would take away from that.  Besides, we have many equalized avenues for PvP.  Faction-wars are to be something people work towards --> a goal to achieve <-- by working on gear + PVP skill + growing with their guild getting stronger too -- to be enlisted under Calpheon and Valencia's militaristic conflict.  But it's just my idea, so equalized gear could be cool, but I wouldn't necessarily like it.  I'm not really a "participation trophy" kind of guy, least in this aspect.

Being said, this post was inspired by PA's announcement of 10v10 Crews and "Server Wars".  Here's a screenshot of a YouTube video showing a Server Wars, but informaiton on it is minimal.  10v10 Crews sounds fun too.  I'm also still waiting on Battle of Thornwood Castle PvEvP mode for BDO PC.

Lol say what? I find it comical that plebs like you are so delusional that you think hiding under the protection of bandwagoning to the most powerful guild and ultra no life gearscore somehow doesn't make YOU the biggest carebears ever to play games. The idea of a fair fight literally makes you pee yourself and the possibility you might be at a disadvantage? Ya your type actually quit playing those games as you frantically guild hop hoping to find a big enough Zerg to protect you until you bail.

I love an equalized gear fight.  AoS is really fun and I can get MVP pretty consistently (using Sorc, my main for 5+ years, so I like to think I'm slightly above average in terms of skill with her, plus she's really strong when used right).  T1 node wars were fun, but kinda trash at the same time because of class imbalance (Strikers being extremely tanky against magic classes + dealing loads of damage).  Personally, the most PvP fun I have is in uncapped node war and open world GVG.

My guild only fights with other guilds whose members are around the same GS as us.  So, while we (like pretty much everyone else) gets stomped by ChoNation, we can hold our own and even dismantle other guilds who are around our level (we're a T4 / T3 node war alliance).  This is the most fun in PvP I persoanlly have -- T4's and GVG, and it is not a gear-stomping fest.  Skill, knowledge of terrain, and coordination play a huge factor here in the outcome of a fight.

The idea of Faction-Based PvP I presented is supposed to offer a "goal" for players to achieve.  Maybe some node reworks would need to happen, like all Valencia and Calpheon nodes being only T3+ in tier (I'm unsure what tier nodes they are).  But basiaclly, it's content that's designed for players and guilds who have achieved their goals and have reached a certain level of strength in terms of gear + skill -- those who have reached a decently high level of gear + skill now have this Open World PvP content to further compete and prove their strength, gaining the respect of other players / guilds.

New players still have all the equalized PvP available to them.  AoS, T1's, capped siege, and even GVG with other guilds around their same GS.  World-wide Faction-Based PVP, Capheoneons VS Valencians, is for those who've reached a pinnacle in their journey in BDO to be qualified to fight in the name of Calpheon or Valencia.  Why would Calpheon or Valencia want to have unskilled + weak guilds to fight in their name?  They'd only want the best, I'd imagine.  And this is what Faction-Wars would provide --> A high, tangible goal, in gearing up for PvP.  It used to be siege.  Being in a siege guild was a huge goal for many players -- like they've climbed a mountain.  Now, being in a siege guild alone is meaningless because 2/3 sieges are capped.  We need more of those goals that bring HARD EARNED GLORY to players.  GVG gives this sense of glory I'm speaking of.  Faction-Wars multiplies GVG to a larger scale.

Skill is one thing in that formula, yes, but so is the hard work it takes to get geared.  Adding gear makes it all the more glorious, and IMO, BDO could use more meaningfulness when it comes to gearing up.  Because now, gear doesn't even matter.  TRI Tuvala makes 300+ m an hour.  So many capped modes / wars.  Let's bring life back into Open World PVP and bring back the GLORY that comes with getting geared and getting skilled at the same time.  Faction-Wars could just do the trick.
