I've played a few other classes recently and the difference between them and shai is just incredible. I can feel impactful and essential, like my choices matter, but on a Shai... I have to play 5th-dimensional chess just to be average! xD Shai OP? PA's nerfs were unjustified.

you playing with higher end gear, cus i am seeing some classes do better and some (that are in a bad way) to worse, in midgame.

I havent got the resources to test the higher end on diff classes :(

Part of the problem seems to be PA's understanding of their own mechanics. Shai's DR shred is not inherently OP once you factor in the lack of species damage & Monster AP on Sol.

I have been doing a lot of testing on Global Labs, with much more to go. DR shred scales better than any other mechanic, but not by a lot. At very high AP, 1 DR shred just becomes 1 base damage, the exact same as AP or Monster AP does before a spot's AP softcap. After this softcap, 1 AP ranges from about 50% to 80% effective. However DR shred & species damage (that thing we don't have on Sol, btw) both ignore AP hardcaps & softcaps. Above enemy DR, this boosts your base damage by the DR shred (-35 for Shai), and that gets scaled by the skill% multiplier (eg 1663% for Swing Swing).

-%DR is fundamentally broken and needed to be removed. It still needs to be replaced on Misty Haze, after which the CD should be 30s again. But -35 DR shred on Shai is actually fairly weak compared to a  (theoretical) PEN Blackstar Sol, which at a 50% AP Softcap Reduction (some of the worst I've seen in the game so far), is still equivalent to at least -19 DR on top of most classes' -20 DR shred:

* 10 species damage adds a random 7-10 damage/hit, unaffected by caps

* 25 Monster AP adds 25 damage/hit below any spot's AP softcap, and (1-X)*25 damage/hit above it (where X is the spot's softcap damage reduction from ~20%-50%, usually ~30%).

* Total: 7 species (min roll) + 12 Monster AP (0.5*25) = +19 damage/hit (worst case)

New PEN boss system , cool.. will the SOL be counted as Boss, or excluded? anyone know?

and im happy about the SP changes for othere classes (has a pain when i had to get sp for them pve test i did for shia, 4 classes at once><). But out of interest, what happens with shai? They said 1000 SP less points needed on every class?

so either pa is counting shai as a non class again or, it will now only take 168 skill points to max out shia. Which is is, shai is not a class PA, or 168 point to max out shai after changes?

anyshai in here actually manage to sit through it?

Did it seem as if they were even vaguely aware of literally any Shai issue that we have been raising? That they give a single F about our class?

I watched the whole thing and nothing was mentioned about shai. There was a question that was referecing a class that was poorly balanced to the point that they were concerned about how guild mates didn't want them on the PvP team and it might be in reference to shai. The answer was basically -- no more big class changes, just small ones moving forward. They did use Shai in a lot of parts in their presentation for cute appeal and that was it.

Sorry but I don't think they are listening to any shai requests. They went as far as to make shai weight limit no longer shai specific. Everyone can increase their max weight with SP. They will try to release this on the next global labs patch.

Nothing about shai apart from the expected.

They used shai imagery to retain control of the shai, shai is very important to them for marketing and plans. Good, let them feel they need to waste cash to keep control of their marketing tool. Keep the pressure on.

We heard there would be no AoS 10v10, I had said there would not be for 2 good reasons. The interests in not that high in AoS and shai would shine in 10v10 (so unbalancws AoS if a team has shai). I remember when AoS was first announced and they said it was 3v3, and I said ‘well, kick in the teeth to shai’.

Cringle levels of showing shai as some sort of wonderful class jumping a ‘jump to fountain’ betting event. Just because they showed the donkey, don’t assume that means you will get it, well, more than an event. Even if we do, it’s a very small change and a gimmick… not a core issues.

We then had their lead dev tell us how hard it has been for them, with all the negativity they have received; okay, I feel for them. Must be hard to receive so much hate, can’t imagine what that is like, but at least I have a nice big house, paycheck and bugatti to make it all better…

Yeah, they are hurting and then talk down to the plebs, it’s was cringe, and no one was impressed, so it good that they showed themselves up like that. Cracks are showing, things take time. Some of you will just give up and that’s okay, I have no time for you :P

There were no surprises, nothing I would not expect at this time, and things seem to be going along according to plan.

We will know if change has happened if we start to see positive changes after the next big content patch, we aren’t gonna seem effect before that.

Positive of what we saw. No matter what PA tried to do at this point, from shai propaganda to excuses, they can’t hide their actions from the gaming community anymore… and thankfully the real gamers and more mature streamers are starting to say it’s not okay for PA to act as they are.

TLDR; no they didnt give a F about shai and try to make it look like they do with silly gimicks and empty stuff... No one falls for it anymore PA

during the bit that I watched, someone asked about some classes needing improvements and the guy acknowledged that some classes need improvements and offered several examples... none of which were Shai :/

I get that "some examples" is not a complete list, but that shai was not the first class to come to their mind and out of their mouth is pretty damning

Maybe, give shai a passive combat skill, like the one other classes have. (anything would be nice)

Maybe, give shai more (K)ick moves. Especially ones that combo into existing moves and relocate her.

Maybe, give shai more MOVEMENT skills, dodges. She needs to be as slippy as a ranger.

Maybe, give her BSR 25%, BSR 50%, and BSR 75% skills.

Maybe, develop the Artina Sol to have more than one useful attack.

Maybe, take a look at the magical ability of the Sol and give her useful tools with the concept of GEOMANCER spell casting.

Maybe, give the florang surf an attack animation that smoothly transitions into combat so she can use it as an engage.

Maybe, give her an S-block with at least one reversal attack (like warriors mainhand options)
