I was uber lucky. I got the fairy skill: Continuous Care level IV on my second attempt with the orbs we got from using 100 loyalty. But then I was greedy and rolled the skill again hoping for level V. I ended up with Continous Care level III afterwards.....but then I went to P2W and....

On my first P2W attempt I rolled inexhaustable well level V but I didn't wanted that skill. The 2nd P2W attempt was epic.

I never paid real money for Theiah's Orbs, all tries for skills are from events rewards or loyalty points so... no, is not pay to win.

Although you are not forced to reroll in any way, the auto pot feature is a money grab (if you accept it). Companies got to make cash. Shame they do it this way instead of more meaningful things, even hear they are dialing back on costume production with some BS excuse about adding lore to the costume (Really that’s what they said – do we believe that? lol)

Auto pot should have a basic default with fair ability, because having to tap a key all the time, though not hard work, it’s not game content… it not QoL, it’s not even old-hat-trash, because I remember auto potting being a free system in online games I played as a kid (and i was around before the internet was really a thing, and the dark times of AOL dial up)

Still, why not just pay for it? Forgo some other luxuries in life and spend it in BDO? There is a free to play factor to BDO, its trash.. reality is, you have to spend money or be happy with the free version.

They won’t change such things until they have something else to sell you in its place (something you will need just as much)

Don’t wanna spend money cus you want Netflix too? Or a Mcdees? Then that’s your choice.

Oh boy. Not that it's important or relevant but for most people it isn't F2P. Aside from some (now rare) scenario, PA literally charges just to use the client. Also there are already several well known mechancs in place to charge the user for playtime.

A Radiant MCV Fairy is (essentially) a requirement to PVP and very significant in PVE. Without it you are typically going to be missing thousands of HP per fight. While not required per se, several other skills can be highly significant to income and general gameplay (e.g. Feathery Steps) . Percentage chances of getting MCV are well known and extremely low. Comparing failing Radiant, failing MCV, deleting your fairy and farming/aquiring more wings to enhancing is obviously rediculous. The average player could easily go years doing this and not get a MCV Radiant fairy.

The Fairy system is literally game breaking until you pay to fix it. It's anti-consumer, bad design, and a significant reason why many players end up being very put off by BDO's "PVP" and in many cases leave the game. Even PA is well aware of how cancer the Fairy is and has stated there awareness of this on several occasions. People with perfect Fairy's talk shit about the Fairy system. Defending it is aids.

No.  What's aids is attacking the game for a wrong reason, all you gain from it is looking for a fool.

If all you want is MCV,  that's precisely when you shouldn't use the CS, you just force the fairy to the highest level, you feed her, every 10 levels you gain a skill.  If she reach level 50 without MCV, free her, rince and repeat.

If you find this process ridiculous,  you're doing wrong or you're too impatient.

The problem happens when players want a "perfect fairy", or simply several skills on their fairy. When you get one of these skills, it's always a gamble to reroll your fairy, and THIS is the moment this system becomes gambling-based.

One essential skill, and several interesting ones, that's how you make the system "CS ready". You tempt players with the idea of getting a "better fairy".

But basically, if you claim that it's hard to get a fairy with MCV, you'll only look like a clueless complainer.

If you claim that the whole system of tempting players with several skills, various levels for these skills, a low probability of getting all the right skills at the right level, and a paying solution in the CS is a problem, YES,  the claim is precise and can't be easily brushed off.

We should be able to level multiple fairies at ones and swap them out like we swap out pets.

No fairy is going to be ideal for all situations, so having different ones for different things would be ideal.

Some good points in this thread, I find myself less critical of the fairy system overall

I still think it would have been better to just make the new skill a one time pearl purchase than RNG.

Rerolling fairies is out of the question for most players at this point(they have good keeper fairies) so aquisition of the new ability really is just rng with cash shop items or waiting a very long time for free orbs for anyone unlucky

oh well

too late now and this forum is just for NA/EU players to vent and be ignored

Not that I like the system, but right now you can get 15 orbs with 100 loyalty.

Funny that people downvoting me for stating my opinion and the fact that you can get 15 orbs with 100 loyalty. English is hard I guess.

Problem is you have all of these people claiming that they got a perfect fairy on first try without any orbs, which skews people's perception.

Really good point, that's a general trend (showing a majority of success will tend to create bias) and it also applies to fairies, you're totally right.

Anyway, we may get a kind of "selection skill coupon" for fairies in the future,  I wouldn't even be surprised.

Problem "solved".
