Short expire rates on coupons are bad

I usually check out the shop after I get a coupon, thinking "I'll pick that up before patchday", and when I'm about to purchase, the coupons have expired. No purchase. This has happened severl times this summer, loosing you sales.
(I understand that I should go "Aaaah coupon!! Click-click-click", but I have impulse control so I don't, I tend to think about things).

That's exactly the kind of control that want to bypass by doing it.
And I'm pretty sure they do it because it works so... Is it bad? Not for them!
