So...

Why someone is going to use Ship Repair Material x5 that can repair the 2% of the durability of your ship plus other items to create a single item with the same repair percentage?
Fact:
The created item must repair at least five times more than the initial material used to be useful and encourage people to use and craft it.
The description of the items (the two) are obsolete because carracks are not mentioned.
All of sea content is outdated. That much point in complaining about one small thing.
Is not about complaining, is about suggesting.
The only way we can see changes is if they see what is wrong, and think how can be changed.
It's better to stay silent and do nothing?
Actually, the ship repair kit is twice as good as the ship repair material, because it takes about 10 seconds to use one ship repair material, whereas it takes about 5 seconds to use one ship repair kit. Obviously, you're using up more materials that way, since it takes 5 ship repair materials to make 1 ship repair kit, but you're saving a lot of time. The real problem with the ship repair kit is that it also takes glue to make it, and glue is a pain to get. Given how easy it is to make ship repair materials though, plenty of players would consider the extra cost in materials well worth the time savings - especially when they need to repair their ship in a hurry.
Now, obviously, the descriptions for these items should also include the time it takes to use them, since otherwise, their stats look identical, and with their current descriptions, it's quite understandable that someone would make the mistake of thinking that they do the same thing. So, their descriptions should be improved. However, the items themselves are not equivalent in spite of how it might seem like they are given their current descriptions.
