Okay so the recent windows 11 update of version 22H2 has the ability to uncap fps in windowed mode on game but its being wonky i'm wondering if anyone else has had this issue.

So i clicked the settings and everything and on char select in windowed mode i get 200'ish fps but as soon as i proceed to in game it drops drastically to around 144 and ocasionally jumps to like 180 and this is all while sitting still in hystria

In full screen on the same settings sitting still i get up to 300 FPS in the same spot

Anyone have any idea why it's being weird like this, vert sync is off.

Please keep in mind that Windows 11 isn't officially supported yet for BDO and you might experience wonky issues because of it :)

That is one reason I plan to stick with Windows 10 far beyond 2023.   Windows 10 will officially stop updating after October 2023, you will not get updates from Microsoft.  I see this as a good thing for Windows 10, just imagine turning your PC on and actually using it right away.

As for the difference  of 200 fps and 144 fps, most humans process images at roughly 13 ms which comes to 77 frames per second.  Unless you are a bird of prey (140 fps) or you are allowing your dog or cat to play video games, I seriously don't see any issue here.  Well other than Microsoft pulling the wool over your eyes.

Have fun!

Windows 11 is akin to windows vista and windows 8. Skip the whole OS until hopefully windows 12 is better. No one should ever be forced to use windows 11, it's awful. Ditch it. Use windows 10 and remove the spyware that it comes with it. windows 11 has spyware that can't be removed because it's part of the basic a.i. functions of the "OS". That said, I hope BDO supports linux sooner than later because Microsoft is ethically an awful company, just as bad as Google and a lot of people I know are moving to linux if we're forced to use 11's spyware. I know that's what people said about 10 but people found ways to block all spyware in 10. 11 is harder. Windows 11 also acts more like a beta then a polished finished product even to this day.  You won't have much support for it as it's a broken mess. I won't be surprised if windows 10 will get supported for many years to come as a result.

Now with that aside, windowed mode will always run worse than full screen regardless of the OS. The FPS may be unlocked but it's still going to run terribly in contrast to game mode full screen. You will never, ever get to run games as efficiently as it does in full screen game mode, this will remain true forever.
