Succession Witch Global Labs Changes Destroys Class Identity

I share the same sentiments with Belly.


For the past two years, the kit of Witch Succession revolved around Magical Evasion and not Split Teleport. Witches delivered combos through small distance evasion, spell storage, and kiting with Magical Evasion. If the intention of PA is to give Witch another iframe to lessen the disparity between Witch and Wizard, it should've been a buff on Magical Evasion instead and not on split teleport. I understand that a split teleport gives Witch a huge leverage in PvP, but that would entail adjusting our playstyle we've mastered for the past 2 years to a Wizard-like playstyle. It was easy to reroll to Wizard if I want split teleport but I preferred the Magical Evasion blinks, spell storage, and elemental MMA.

So PA, please return our Magical Evasion, but as a partial iframe instead.

I too am not a fan of the changes to magical evasion. I would prefer them not to give us split teleport. We do have similar skills to wizard but the two classes play quite differently. Split teleport and magical evasion define how the two classes position and function in fights. It gives them both their own unique playstyle. Also, as those before have commented. Witch succession functions off of her magical evasion. We pocket spells, reposition, and set up our ability to quick cast spells from it. Removing the protection makes it extremely hard for our class to set up in fights and stay within them, pve included. At its current cooldown and protection. It really affects our ability to be a, somewhat weak but effective when learned, frontline skirmisher. Wizards split teleport allows him to effectively reposition for mid and long range fights. He can even dive in and out combat and skate some enemies if he so chooses. However, Witch's super armor magical evasion allows us to frontline a bit. Witch trades mobility and more of her ranged play style to have a just scraping by, close combat magic caster. We have more options and chances through out the fight to make use of about half our kit if we can reposition within the fray of combat. There are many close range spells like voltaic, equilibrium break, aqua jail, frigid fog, rabams, and there will be more after the upcoming spell changes that all require us to be within a rather short distance of our opponent.

Please dont remove the super armor magical evasion, our close range combat ability. Witch is tough to learn, but it is a fun and talented mental game we play the class for. It is a constant damage trade at close range for us. We are slow or on par in our ability to go through our spells, but we are very stationary in our attacks. It is either protected movement or protected damage. There are many classes that get to do both at once. A constant decision to either move or attack heavily based off of our position, the classes around us, and our perception of the fight. I know thats every class right. We cannot really stop a lot of classes that come towards us. When we dodge we don't leave the fight. More often then not we dont even evade a move with magical evasion. It doesn't place us far enough away to evade anything really or outrun other classes for that matter. We get grabbed out of it if commonly and take damage and debuffs during it. Sounds bad right? No. When you learn these things about it. You learn when and how to use your evasion for better results. You begin to see theses openings that you normally don't get to seek on other classes. Openings you never get the chance to learn. The class ultimately becomes capable of all types of fighting while not outshining other classes that specialize in their respective styles of combat. This is what is so unique about it Witch and why most of the Witchs i know play her. Without needing a high skill ceiling anyone can play the class and enjoy pvp and pve. But when you learn her skills as they are now and how to position with them. She plays like no other and is execptionally rewarding. Don't make us into another wizard.

What are you talking about? The ranged PvP skill set is totally unaffected. They did not adjust Fireball Explosion (Areal), Blizzard (Storm), and Lightning Storm (High Voltage) which are the options in PvP. They buffed Focus, Domain, and Combo instead for PvE purposes. 

it must be said - some casters went full protected choices not giving much thought about getting the actual cc spells but nuking down people with impunity from range with damage. (and fb explo focus was one of these spells)

this should be given to awakened spec, succ has already enough movement and kiting options, tbh.

I totally agree with Belly on this, they develop the identity with a unique ability then want to waste everyone's time by scrapping it.   ME has scenearios where it shines and many witches choose to play witch because they are not comfortable with/ fond of split tp.  

The problem is PA makes these drastic changes without consulting anyone, wasting the time of players who have invested time in the spec as it stands, and they continue to move the targets which keeps relative balance forever out of reach.
