This is terribly stupid and non-sensical.

Let's just double the traveling time for seasonal toons, yeah, good decision, let's implement that!

Let's just go back on QoL and make stuff harder and less fun.

Let's double the drop amount for gathered items but let's get em when they have to go to storage with their horses!!!!

Honestly I never understood why people aren't allowed to use their dream horses.

Mostly to prevent people to level their season characters with Doom and completely neglect the need for gear.
Then again, just AFKing at Miru for 2 hours exists too. :')

To me it doesn't make sense, why they disabled riding crops for seasonal characters. Was it intentional or what?

They gave Seasons double drop amount, but, take away Mastery gear.

How UTTERLY dumb is that?

I get mistakes.

I get imbalance.

It's just a play on words and a strategy to get more poeple on Seasons, where the chances of buying the pass increases - Why? Because you're getting twice the amount of drops now~!

Question: How does my young character moving faster break the game?

Answer: It does not.

To get the fast crop I will have already have played quite a bit.  The brand new people will not even know about it most likely.  This seems like a REALLY STUPID decision.  I know it is making me frustrated with my Season Character's progress just from the travel delays.

Now when I ride, I no longer sit and think about Black Desert.  Instead I go get a cup of coffee.  Or go to the lavatory.

And then I moght not come back, or just come back and logout -- because I forgot what I was doing.

If this were TV, the travel times would make me change the channel.

These types of decisions are why I SPEN SO LITTLE MONEY ON THIS GAME (BETWEEN MY MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS).  If PA Would not whack us with stupid stuff like this I would be much more likely to open my wallet wider.

Pretty sure the seasonal quest chain gives you a loggia riding crop you cannot use.

Presumably for the same reason that you can't use boss gear on a season character. Theoretically, you're supposed be starting a new character from the ground up without a bunch of help from your other existing characters, making the experience more like being a newbie for the experienced players. Of course, there's a variety of gear that you can still wear that that gives you a considerable boost prior to Tuvala (e.g. the gear you get from the main questline), so they arguably failed on that point to an extent, but they did succeed at making it so that you can't stick your best gear on your season character, meaning that Tuvala gear is actually better than what you can use before that. Now, other choices like adding the simplified main questline arguably goes against the whole goal of making the experienced players go through a new character like a newbie would, so PA hasn't exactly been consistent with their approach, but the restrictions that they've put on season characters have generally been in line with that idea.

I very much doubt that it was intentional. For some reason, someone at PA got the idea that it would be a great idea to double the amount of stuff that season characters can get from gathering, presumably to try to help newbies out. But just like they didn't want people to be able to slap their best boss gear on their season characters to power through everything, they didn't want players to be able to take advantage of the gathering buff with good gear, so they decided to ban all of the mastery gear. And since they banned all of the mastery gear, that naturally means that they banned the riding crops as well. There is nothing about the buff which helps horse training - or anything other than gathering - so it's highly likely that they just banned all mastery gear rather than simply the gear that relates to gathering, because it was easier. They didn't think things through, and now we all get to suffer.

The lack of riding crops in season is just a form of low humor - auto-pathing is comically slow.

The *real* hit was when I discovered that I can't use fishing chairs.  RP right out the window.

Ok, that's comical too.

One plus to the double gathering drops is that those types of quests are easier / faster. Which is unrelated to mastery.
