With that latest trailer, WOW!

I wish Black Desert had aspects of that trailer. BDO Combat + BDO Graphics + FF story = I'd Never Leave

I am not waiting for any other MMOs anymore no matter the looks or content. I'll retire from gaming, if BDO ever meets the end.

FFXVI will be a single player game. Not an MMO.

Same, I think every new MMO that will come out will need 3-5 years of active development and new content before they even comes close to BDO's level of things to do in game. Who knows with how much PA are adding with each new patch, maybe BDO will have everything any other mmo will have eventually.

Been waiting for FF16 since it was announced 20 years ago xD

Joking of course, I'm hyped over it because they are going back to the root of what an RPG is really like. A true fantasy game, maybe a final fantasy even...

BDO isn't a game but FF16 is. See the difference? FF16 will provide a quality RPG experience unlike BDO which is just a bunch of RNG stacked on top of each other with stats. There's no comparing the two. There's a beginning and an end. BDO doesn't have that so it's not a game.

People talk about how they don't care about console and netiher do I but FF16 is coming to PC just like FF15 and FF7:R did. We need proper RPG experiences and I think FF16 will deliver that. Not many games can deliver it but I trust SE will.

Don't care for Final Fantasy and doubt I ever will, however, this reply made me want to comment in. As much as I love BDO, literal addiction, I whole-heartly think that RIOT's MMO is going to be massive.

World of Warcraft was successful and hit a peak of twelve million players because of the massive world and story that was branched off of the Warcraft series. They had a game with years of lore already attached to it and years later it's still being played even with the lack of an update to the engine. Look at Classic also, tons of people playing for the nostalgia.

RIOT is going to have over ten years worth of lore to be able to develop an incredible MMO, objectively they have not released a bad game. Keeping personal opinions of those games aside, look at all their games and the popularity within them. They've got League of Legends, Valorant and Team Fight Tactics as their money-makers with so many players. On the mobile side, Wild Rift and Runeterra are held in very high regard and their single-player game of Ruined King has incredibly good ratings with a captivating story. They even released Arcane with a back-ground story on two popular characters and just look at the ratings for it, it even broke Netflix records for most viewed show of 2021.

The team handling development for that MMO also announced they will not be releasing it unless the entire team agrees that it's a good, engaging and entertaining game. It's the same principle they've held for everything they've released. I've dropped the idea of playing any other MMO until that game is released.

RIOT is very good at making what I call "Pop-culture Icon" type games, for sure.  The kind of games that appeal to the masses, a very wide audience.  Kind of like pop-music.  So I agree, their MMO will be huge, also add to the fact RIOT is a filthy rich.  LOL Worlds is almost like the Super Bowl of Esports these days, it seems.

But IMO, it will be just that -- "POP".  Mainstream.  Not saying it won't be "good" -- it very well might be -- but when I think of "POP" MMO's, I think WOW, GW, FF...."themepark" MMO's.  PVE and PVP separated.  Forced grouping.  Hand-held progression (IE: game telling you what to do).  Min/maxing.  Less room for creativiy in your own gameplay loop.  Simple combat.  Queue-up content.  Expansions that invalidate gear over time.  That sorta thing.

IMO, when it comes to MMORPG, the only one I really want to see is Intrepid's.  Ashes of Creation's development is looking good so far.  Might be good, might be bad, but it's a the only MMO I want to see for its "sand-park" approach.  Hopefully get in some good hours in there before the casuals and snowflakes ruin it by crying so loud.
