So I'm a returning player but that's kind of sorta undecided because when i first started playing this game i was all over the place with 15 or so different character's and id say about 10 of them have pearl shop clothing item's and i guess what I'm trying to say is that now that i want to get back into the game, i want to do things differently! but for some crazy reason i can't sell my pearl items..... because i wore the clothing..... I mean i paid real money for this **** and now it's locked and unsellable because i wore it... call me crazy but it's just virtual items on a screen you are not decreasing the value like you would in real life so it makes no sense why i can't at the very least sell my items that i paid real money for on the market... but since i can't even do that i have to trash bin my pearl items so i can delete some of my character's. Ugh

For your info, you can melt the costumes you have to get crons out of them. Crons allow you to enhance certain items without them being destroyed or the enhancement level dropping. That way you can still get a use out of the items even if you no longer wish to keep the outfit.

As for being able to sell items after they have been in use, i believe that would be a suggestion that belongs in the Feedback section:

This is a "free to play" game meaning everything that should be obtained through progression is locked behind the cash shop. This game costs $0 most of the time to own and there's no subscription fee. They have to make their money somehow and unfortunately due this cosmetics are stupid expensive with character bound system. If they made it so you had to buy the game and its expansions but not pay a monthly subscription fee, the prices might be cheaper (might!). If they did both where you paid for the expansion and monthly fees, then you might see those cosmetics available in-game as something you can craft / earn. But, emphasis on "might" because it is Pearl Abyss. FF14 does this part right I think.

Now, don't go and hope for BDO to be a subscription kind of game because it won't happen, not at this point in its life cycle. Maybe they will consider it for crimson though if it's still in development. I personally believe in subscription MMOs do better than free-to-play and well, the charts do back me up on that. MMORPGs are kinda niche so it's hard to say what will and won't work. It seemed to have worked in PA's favor for a while at least.

Sorry to hear you're frustrated, spending real world money in a game only to see it pretty much wasted does hurt. Just remember that there are no digital items which last forever whether it's a game you bought on steam or a costume you bought in a MMO.

yeah it was same thing on tera when we wore outfit it was linked to the character forever

pretty sure you could recover crone stone and valk when you recycle outfit

anyway just remember to never try outfit on a test character, alway use it on your permanent character

if you really trow in trash bin your outfit i recommend you to contact support fast to try to recover it, maybe it is not too late, just explain you made a mistake when you moved your items and slip it to the trash bin

Yeah i get all that. I may not agree with the BDO subscription because i think paying for a game monthly is outrageous.. hell i think paying $60 for games that come out these days are outrageous because... well alot of reasons that would take alot of time for me to list lol.

I understand they gotta make the money somehow witch is why they sold the game at a price in it's self and there ant nothing wrong with selling cosmetics to get alittle extra money.. although i think it is definitely over priced cosmetics and don't think i should have to pay $30 $60 for cosmetics that have no inpact on the game what so ever. but give me more options with the items that i'm giving you money for, if you don't want to allow us to put it on the market place after wearing or using the item so that people don't just use the ingame market to buy cosmetics and not give you money then just allow us to sell the item to a vendor that would give us the silver that you would get on the market, is one option that could be done about this issue. or make it a Pearl Vendor and allow us to get some or the same about of Pearls back so we can get something else with the same char or other char in your family! how could that possibly harm anything other then their greedy little hands...!

I'm a little bit curious on why you think it is outrageous to pay monthly fees for a game?

Game access is pretty balanced for most games.
In BDO's example, the base game costs $10 most of the time, but often is available for a $5 discount, or even for free where you get to keep it for free if you reach certain ingame requirements. You have more expensive package deals with more rewards, but you also have a value pack that asside from being given through attendance rewards very often, you have to pay $15 per month to keep it active. (Not even counting oldmoon books and kama blessings)

In other games like GW2, the base game is available for free all the time. You only have to pay once for all the expansions you want to get.

And then of course you have WoW, which has a permanent subscription to even gain access at all.

Every game and every company have their own ways to generate revenue, and some seem a bit more outragious than others.
I for once can agree that paying almost the same amount of hard cash for real clothes than for ingame outfits, is ridiculous. But people still pay it, so who can you really blame?

Some people spend thousands on ships in Star Citizen when they're not even available in-game. It's a promise, a pledge and mind you that game has been in development for more than 10 years. I've seen people spend over 40 grand! Pearl Abyss also owns a space game as you might already know, EVE Online. I heard people spent tens of thousands for their own ship for massive battles before. I don't care what people do with their money but many of times it's people who put it on their credit card with no plan to pay it off. Microtransactions is sadly like this, the majority of customers for mobile games are addicts who can't afford the things they buy, it's pretty bad.

Interestingly I just came across this video

It's basically a video talking about how every MMORPGs are losing customers because of their F2P model including BDO but subscription games tend to not lose their fanbase but keep growing into a better game which I'm inclined to agree. I do prefer spending $15/mo. to have access to pretty much everything in-game as part of progression than to earn my progression with my wallet (like BDO). Sure, I never spent money for crons but I bought so, so many outfits, costumes and upgrade packages in this game. For the most part, it only makes me feel cute, but not really happy or motivated to play more. This is why I have trouble playing BDO for more than 20 or even 30 days, it has nothing end-game that really motivates you to keep playing other than grinding in circles all the time and for what? An extra +1 AP after 3 months of grinding if you're lucky with enhancing?

It's tough to like something that punishes you so much for trying to progress. Goddarn stockholm syndrome!

guild war contradict this theory, it is not subscription and still running since 2005

and the big majority sucessfull subscription mmorpg are sustain from other games or had the chance to born in 90s or early 2000 to be able to get hardcore players to sustain them

not like today where mmorpg must to compete against fornite and other fortnite game

so ff 14 get square enix resource, wow get blizzard resource, elder scroll online get bethesda resource, lineage i put it with runescape and everquest, they enjoyed golden age of mmorpg from 90s and early 2000

so for me black desert and tera were impressive to run well after 2010 without the assistance from other games like warcraft, elder scroll, final fantasy at smartphone era

i know tera is dead, but for black desert is impressive to have this sucess against big ones like blizzard, square enix, bethesda, electronic art, ncsoft
