As a recently returning player (I played BDO on and off since release but never transfered my account) I am so mad I missed this!

I am a Shai main now and I'd love to use only donkeys if I could, horses just look odd with the Shai Imo.

How can you call yourself a shai supporter if you want the devs to waste their time and resources making a shiny donkey?

If the devs are going to put effort into the shai, please do so in balancing and developing her and the rest of the cast.

It is already in game actually.

I recognize your fears but class balance and changes are separate from mounts in this game. Particularly, one that has already been made and could be released in some form by the next patch if PA desired. If you're concerned that perhaps this already made feature would detract PA developers for an unreasonable amount of time then I think we would have even bigger business related concerns about overworking the dev team due to the lack of members. However, that issue is not for us the consumers to know or address. We can only express our desires and hope that PA hears us.

Did you not listen to what Choice said in the past when he directly spoke to the team at PA?

He said that they make costumes... and consider that to be substantial CONTENT DROPS.

With this being said, PA will literally come out with: "We made a dream horse for shai, because she's just that special. Finally shai is complete and we are done"

Then my head will explode.

Look, Choice is a great content creator and promoter for BDO and does a ton of work to help people with the game. However, PA has teams with different roles, and it's not like 5 guys in a basement doing content. If you're not satisfied with Shai as a class then you should post a thread about what you feel is an issue, lord knows that I've done that more times than I can count. We have gotten results from every battle, but this is my last battle, and I've got no heart to discuss class balance anymore.

If Choice does happen to read this, I do wish you'd cut down on the meme's a tad bit. Some players cannot tell when you're joking around or serious. Just look to the world, and what sowing seeds of fear and resentment has done to our society already, I don't think we need more of that in BDO. That said, I'm still a fan of yours and respect you greatly but even your smallest whispers seem to carry into the crags of this game's deepest depths, which can be very troublesome to a hobbit of a Shai like me who's just trying to retire. 

I agree with the spirit of this post. I mean, I do want Donkey to be a viable mount, and Donkuanatt seems to be the best way to get there, and Donkuanatt seems pretty great.. but there are a hundred other things I would choose over Donkuanatt if I had a choice,

and PA wont do any of them.

2 balls ago when they asked for player feedback there was so much GREAT feedback offered by some of our top Shai players and it wasnt even acknowledged.

..to be fair, they only even addressed a few suggestions out of thousands across twenty something classes, numerically its not so unusual that shai didnt make the cut.. but given what a poor state our class is in I dont think it is unfair to think we should have been at the top of the list for attention. I had so much copium that ball :|

...and then the next, most recent ball.. they didnt just ignore us, they actually went out of their way to tell us that they would never fix our combat issues because we're an RP class ("enjoyment class who sacrifices combat efficiency")

Instead that they were giving us dokev dance emotes as some odd form of compensation for them letting every class play instruments. Because who needs a super duper special Sol to manifest as a piano when a warrior can just carry a full ensemble of instruments in their butt.

I dont even mind all classes playing instruments. I mean it seems like an odd choice of thing to waste dev time on when the best way for any class to play music is to just summon an alt to play for them.. but whatever, now that summoned alt can look like a different class. It was a great opportunity for them to better fit Shai into the game as she became less "special" and instead they threw some dance emotes at us because thats easier than actually developing our class

Even upon being prompted to respond to the Sol thread on the adventurer's board, the most basic and reasonable request that we could make, they still said no. We already know that there is no technical limitation since we can tag tuvala sol. All they needed to do was add blackstar sol and flag it as taggable but nah

Its not that PA doesnt have enough dev time for us. PA is actually very forthcoming about how fast and easy it is to "fix" Shai when they think we are too strong. Even during our last round of development, instead of addressing ANY of our actual problems or making any real improvements, they chose to waste their time completely revamping WGW from a niche skill that rarely anyone uses to a slightly different niche skill than rarely anyone uses.

So even though I also would prefer PA prioritize developing our class.. Im still here shilling for dream donkey.

Because Im kind of hoping that they say no just to prove that the "enjoyment class" moniker was always a lie to excuse them from fixing our class.

I do still like the idea of Donkuanatt being available for all though, since all classes can ride donkey anyways. Then this wouldnt be "a shai thing".

If all classes could ride Donkuanatt then Id imagine it would be far more likely to be given the stats of a useful mount instead of RP trash that rots in the stable(RIP Alpaca😭) I said this before but.. Doom is literally on fire, there is no good reason that a Donkuanatt cant run fast

After reading ArchaicTriad and Brassica's replies, I see ample reasons for the Donkuanatt no longer being an exclusive mount. As stated, this exclusivity is feared that it may come at the cost of the class which could potentially be used to limit certain aspects of the game's enjoyment. I have appended the OP to include this request in hopes that it will help sentiments around exclusivity and linked to the first instance of such a request which I found from Tipips on page 14, thank you to everyone who contributed to this adjustment.

I have maintained that it should be for small classes since BDO is an RPG Fantasy that focuses more on realistic attributes than reality-bending magic. That said, I once heard Brassica denote how a doom can be a horse on fire and therefore it is not unheard of to expect a donkey can run fast. Perhaps if there is a large enough request following this post, I will have ample reason to remove this small class qualifier altogether.

Im not against it being Shai or smoll person exclusive, in fact after riding Donkey around on a Hash for the last few days I can confirm a a grown ass man looks silly riding Donkey. But I do like the idea of keeping the options open. A Donkuanatt with compromises is (probably) better than no Donkuanatt at all :3
